to be freaked out? Random drawings posted through my door

First time I have posted on AIBU...

Just got home from a week away to find several photocopied drawings of random images posted through my door in a plastic transparent wallet.

No note. No writing on them. DH away for work and I'm alone freaking out with my 4 month old. Thought they might be advertising but too random and no message.

They look like adult's drawings and they are of the following

Plane
Woman
Truck
Spaceship
Parrot

Any ideas?

Are they the sort of pictures a child might colour in or be used as a teaching aid?

As they were in a plastic wallet, my instinct is someone has put them through the wrong letterbox by mistake.

Unicow · 16/05/2016 00:19

Looks like college art student work. I would assume dropped by your gate and a kind stranger shoved them through your door thinking your Dec dropped them on the way home.

Mitchell50 · 16/05/2016 00:20

Silver I think they might totally drawn by someone rather than coloured in but difficult to tell. The one of the plane is really elaborate - lots of colours and it looks like it is exploding...it does not help that my DH is currently on a plane Confused

Why can't I see them? Or should I be glad I can't...

wickedlazy · 16/05/2016 00:21

I can't see them Confused

Mitchell50 · 16/05/2016 00:22

I'm on the Talk app - could that be why some people can't see them?

OP posts:
MiddleClassProblem · 16/05/2016 00:23

Is it only you and Unicow who can see them?

Mitchell50 · 16/05/2016 00:25

Think a few others can see them too

I feel like I'm in an episode of the X files🤔 after reading this and the last episode of Undercover tonight, even after reading everyone's interpretations of the plot I'm still confused. Now I can't see any drawings.

ForeverBeingFobbedOff · 16/05/2016 00:27

I can see them. Don't find them creepy really, the art student and posted through the wrong letterbox explanation seems the most logical!

Mitchell50 · 16/05/2016 00:29

I haven't watched it yet! I did drive past the main guy in it in Dulwich the other day though.

The spaceship image looks quite like a penis so maybe it has been screened out!

I went to desktop mode and still can't see.

I'll just go with the college kid theory and maybe sleep with the light on

Mitchell50 · 16/05/2016 00:30

Yes think the art student thing is definitely possible because of the college but can't shake the uneasy feeling they have given me. Might have to just stay awake until DH gets home at 7am

IggyPopsicle · 16/05/2016 00:52

I'm feeling a bit creeped out now and I can't even see them! The phone just ran and I nearly jumped out of my skin. I am such a wuss Blush

OutToGetYou · 16/05/2016 00:58

Isn't 111 the NHS number?

Mitchell50 · 16/05/2016 01:02

Oh it is isn't it! I meant that number you call for non emergency police stuff.

Thanks for some reassuring words so far. I'm still awake and my baby is snoozing happily away without a care in the world!

wickedlazy · 16/05/2016 01:03

101?

Mitchell50 · 16/05/2016 01:05

That's the one

Don't think NHS direct would have been that bothered if I'd said 'really sorry, bit freaked out by some weird drawings of planes and parrots'

The parrot one is actually quite good

IDontBelieveAnything · 16/05/2016 01:06

I can see them I the app but not on desktop.

I quite like them. It wouldn't cross my mind to be freaked out by them. Unless they were posted at midnight or something. I know it's really boring but it will just be someone getting the address wrong.

TrivialBlah · 16/05/2016 01:20

Could it be that they've been dropped off at other houses too and you'll get a knock on the door tomorrow asking if you'd like to buy a print? Are they signed?

IggyPopsicle · 16/05/2016 01:27

You said there was a drawing of a spaceship - well, that settles it then. You'll be beamed up by martians tonight, mark my words Wink

VenusRising · 16/05/2016 02:21

Mitchell go asleep!
The drawings are lovely, quite artistic, not creepy.

You feel a bit strange about them because they're unexpected, and your DH is away and you have a little baby.

Go asleep! There will be an explanation in the morning... Nothing's going to happen now. They're not a map for aliens, just drawings. Grin

HerRoyalNotness · 16/05/2016 03:07

Just take them to the college tomorrow, and see if they belong to someone there. A student may have dropped their course work

BikeRunSki · 16/05/2016 03:15

I'm got on with A level Art prep irk or coursework, dropped in the street, and not worrying.

stupidgreatgrinonmyface · 16/05/2016 03:26

I wonder if they are part of a portfolio from a prospective student. Could have been dropped and, as suggested earlier, someone has put them through the nearest letterbox, in this case, yours. I think they look quite good, especially the airplane and the space shuttle.
