Whenever I say I keep rats. Yesterday for example i was in PAH and had my heartstrings pulled by the little girl in the picture i asked the guy if I could see her out and hold her. A girl walked past and said ewwwww she's holding a rat, thats disgusting.
Its the face they make too. They are the best pets but of course its ok if people don't like them but why feel the need to tell me their disgusting etc

I think its lame, i dont trust people who dont like animals they are usually self centred and arseholes.
I rescued a mice from my cat the other day poor thing was shaking it was so scared.
We share the world with animals and more humans are aholes then any animal

YANBU OP!!! It pisses me off too, the ignorant 'yuck it's a rat' attitude from people who actually know nothing whatsoever about them (but think that they do). I would be offended if somebody felt the need to be rude about my pet (having never been asked for their opinion in the first place!). I have had 8 pet rats over the years and they are GORGEOUS! So affectionate, cuddly, clever, they give so much back and are a perfect pet in every way - a lot of people just assume that domesticated rats and wild rats are the same, and they aren't. Rats are very much like dogs in their character, just way smaller.

Rats do feel affection, love and companionship with their owners - one very lovely boy rat of mine would ignore food in favour of a cuddle instead. And it was good food too. :-)
