So I have name changed since writing on the thread but today the DM have written a story about the woman who received a request for more money from a couple whose wedding she attended. Admittedly I did question on the thread what the woman would think when she saw it in the daily mail but I feel like everyone else on here is getting their fifteen minute and the bastards at the DM are ignoring my hilarious and insightful posts. Every bloody time. Also hoping not to get in trouble as I suppose this is a taat sigh

Have you got a 'Daily Mail ignored my remarks about Daily Mail' Sad Face prepared in case they pick up this thread?

I Hope so.

ASAS · 10/05/2016 18:20

Ha ha, I swing between relief that I haven't and rage that I haven't. YABNU

Stratter5 · 10/05/2016 18:21

Me too, they even ignored Smurfgate :(

FlyingElbows · 10/05/2016 18:21

Is there any way you can blame immigrants, single mothers or council housing for your failure to be noticed?

Pipbin · 10/05/2016 18:22

So was there a story about that thread? Oh FFS.
I hope someone in the comments has suggested she stop the cheque.

I think the DM need to inform us of the criteria they use for:

  1. Thread selection
  2. Poster comment selection

After all as MN seem to provide a decent percentage of their journalistic output we should be included in the process.

JeffFromTheDailyMail · 10/05/2016 18:25

Stopping the cheque was mentioned. I would link but I'm furious with them. My DM sad face is ready and I keep one cupboard permanently empty ready to leave open behind me should they ever want to pop round and photograph me. And yes, I will indeed blame people on benefits for my lack of fame, bloody scrounges nicking all my potential headlines Angry

I took the fall and looked it up: www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3582662/Bride-groom-email-guest-say-wedding-gift-wasn-t-generous-enough.html

I see the 'journalist' is called Unity Blott!! Please tell me that isn't a real name.

JeffFromTheDailyMail · 10/05/2016 18:34

Maybe that's her mn name. surely there must be some kind of boss at the DM who looks at these articles and sends them back for not being real journalism? I could do a better job and hope to feature shortly

OP posts:
WriteforFun1 · 10/05/2016 18:35

Unity Blott must be a pen name, surely? (I don't mean a manufactured pen, I mean a made up name to write under!!) Grin

JeffFromTheDailyMail · 10/05/2016 18:35

Hec I cannot believe they are so desperate they would do that, it's clear the poor woman was grieving and looking for anonymous support, it's disgusting

OP posts:
WriteforFun1 · 10/05/2016 18:36

as for "real journalism" I doubt the DF care. Or most papers for that matter. They print anything that they can find. It's saved them money, just trawling online for a good story.

NewYearSameMe · 10/05/2016 18:41

I need a new name, it's May already and I'm still using my New Year's name change. UnityBlott has a certain ring to it. Wink

Cutecat78 · 10/05/2016 18:42

UnityBlott has already been taken as a username here....

Oysterbabe · 10/05/2016 18:43

You need to make your comments more racist.

Cutecat78 · 10/05/2016 18:44

Not posted though..

HermioneWeasley · 10/05/2016 18:46

That reminds me - need to change my user name to "HermioneThinksTheMailAreCunts"

MrsFogi · 10/05/2016 18:46

So any time someone posts on mn they risk it being reproduced in the Daily Fail Shock leaving them open to being exposed in rl for asking advice Hmm?

coffeeisnectar · 10/05/2016 18:47

pibpin You'll be pleased to know that there is a comment under the article saying that the Op should have cancelled the cheque. Quite clearly they didn't read the article which stated that she had.
