So I have name changed since writing on the thread but today the DM have written a story about the woman who received a request for more money from a couple whose wedding she attended. Admittedly I did question on the thread what the woman would think when she saw it in the daily mail but I feel like everyone else on here is getting their fifteen minute and the bastards at the DM are ignoring my hilarious and insightful posts. Every bloody time. Also hoping not to get in trouble as I suppose this is a taat sigh

Hello piss poor journalists!

Get off your arse and go and find a proper story.Angry

LadyReuleaux · 10/05/2016 18:56

Well I think "written an article" is a bit of a stretch, i think "Unity Blott" has ahem cut and pasted an article Hmm Even the bits that aren't screenshots are just basically her describing what the screenshots say!

And yes you can quote me on that DM, in the article that comes out tomorrow about this thread about the DM trawling Mumsnet for "articles"...

dodobookends · 10/05/2016 19:00

Are the DF paying the OP for the use of her story? If so, she needs to cash the cheque, and then tell them it wasn't enough and she wants more money Grin

shamelessmailhack · 10/05/2016 19:01

I like how they had to blank some of puzzledandpissedoff's username.

Oh no, swearing! fans self

EverySongbirdSays · 10/05/2016 19:13

YABU. They took one of my threads about 2 weeks ago.

It was a bit unpleasant to discover, and I was very, very relieved it was a generic isn't Facebook bullshit post that had no identifying info.

I felt so heartbroken for the bereaved Mum, the went at length to ENSURE that anyone who both read the Mail and knew her could easily identify.

As a result I have decided I will change minor details that aren't essential to the crux of a RL advice needed post as well as post NC just to be safe when it comes to anything acutely personal.

thatorchidmoment · 10/05/2016 19:21

You are angry not to be featured in the DM article? What about my peerless poetry!? Overlooked entirely.
I'm spitting feathers! Angry Bird

Does this name make my bum look big and my brain look small?

BarbaraofSeville · 10/05/2016 19:33

Love how a little light swearing is considered inappropriate for a rag that has no qualms about all the sexist racist crap it prints. Nice to know they do have standards they won't stoop below Hmm.

Maybe if MNHQ scattered sweary bunting all over our posts it would be too hard to obscure and they'd piss off and leave us alone. The Cuntybollocks bunting in the picture, I'm sure that is a MN nickname.

*EverySongbirdSays"

Problem is people often ask so many bloody questions on threads the nosey goady fuckers that posters end up revealing far more personal details than they mean to.

I try to change details but then there is the incessant questioning over irrelevant details.

JeffFromTheDailyMail · 10/05/2016 19:42

Ah yes, they get accused of drip feeding only to be revealed by a national newspaper. What is the answer though, we like a full story. LOVE the new name unity

LitteRedSparkle · 10/05/2016 19:59

MN should put in CuntyBunting wallpaper

YouCanButImNot · 10/05/2016 20:53

Maybe we should all change our names to something slating the DF. Would be amusing to see them screenshot that!

JuxtapositionRecords · 10/05/2016 21:01

Change your username to something mildly homophobic, that's guaranteed to get the DM scum all excited.

JuxtapositionRecords · 10/05/2016 21:04

You could also create a thread about your new next door refugee neighbours who have knocked on your door to tell you they are absolutely rolling in benefit money since coming to the UK and have insisted you no longer celebrate Christmas as it offends them.

Catnuzzle · 10/05/2016 21:04

That's what I was thinking YouCan. It would be rather embarrassing for them to print a story quoting 'DFareshite' or other such names, maybe we should have a mumsnet campaign to get everyone to name change adding a DR insult.

Catnuzzle · 10/05/2016 21:05

DF not DR

SilverBirchWithout · 10/05/2016 21:17

It's now clear that there is no point in changing our names to 'fuckthemail' or suchlike. They have blurred out pissed from the OP's name on the thread they quoted.

Bog off Daily Mail.

shamelessmailhack · 10/05/2016 21:24

I noticed Mumsnet favourite Martha Cliff being slagged off on Twitter again the other day. She posted an article where all the funny images were from a Twitter feed called We Want Plates - a collection of images showing the funny ways restaurants served food. She hadn't even bothered to credit them.

emotionsecho · 10/05/2016 21:49

There has been a number of threads recently asking for quite personal information, i.e., how many children you have, how long have you been married, what job do you do, where do you live, how much is your house worth. If the same posters post responses to those questions it would be quite easy for the DM to collate and add the information to the poster name:

'Xposter' who lives in the West Midlands in a house worth £500,000 with her husband of 20 years and 3 children and who is a nuclear physicist commented "Just cancel the cheque OP"

I'm wondering if those threads have been deliberately started purely to fish for information to be used as above.

The grabby bride story has just been shown on BBC breakfast news Grin Shock
