Ice cream for breakfast

springhasprung · 10/05/2016 10:44

Bailey's Häagen-Dazs to be specific. When pregnant.

AIBU to think that this is not what a pregnant woman should be doing??

OP posts:

Perfectly acceptable as far as I'm concerned Grin As long as it's not every day I say enjoy! I developed a real sweet tooth during pregnancy and was guilty of dunking chocolate biscuits in my morning cup of tea every now and then. I need to be pregnant again now so I have an excuse for an ice cream breakfast!

Clandestino · 10/05/2016 13:14

It's totally acceptable. Proteins, some sugar, deliciousness. Go for it.

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 10/05/2016 13:17

Blergh. I can't bear sweet things in the morning. And with a hint of morning
alcohol?

I'd rather go hungry than eat that, but I honestly don't care what other people eat for breakfast Grin

KittyKrap · 10/05/2016 13:22

DC1 I was eating orange soleros for breakfast.
DC2 would see me cooking up Tom Yan soup at 6am.

Go for it!

BeckyMcDonald · 10/05/2016 13:22

If the pregnant person is a grown woman then she can surely make her own decisions about what she should and shouldn't be doing. It's not like she's rolling out of bed and taking a line of coke.

stealthsquiggle · 10/05/2016 13:30

Ice cream for breakfast - entirely reasonable. Baileys ice cream is a bit bleugh, but each to their own.

I am having a really shit day and have a very sore throat. I am considering ice cream for lunch. I am not pregnant. I have no intention of allowing anyone to judge my reasonableness or lack thereof.

Pinkheart5915 · 10/05/2016 13:33

Perfectly acceptable

EarSlaps · 10/05/2016 13:35

YABU, the only reasonable breakfast when you're pregnant is a couple of glasses of Dr Pepper, followed by a brunch at KFC Grin

I am not pregnant and have just eaten marzipan for lunch.

inlovewithhubby · 10/05/2016 13:37

Do it. Must be a sign your body needs the dairy? (Desperately clutching at straws)

I was (leading brand) tomato soup and cheap white sliced bread for 9 months - I was just glad they didn't come out orange.

MiffleTheIntrovert · 10/05/2016 13:47

Why are you asking?

OohMavis · 10/05/2016 13:49

Are you the pregnant woman in question, or is this an AIBU about another pregnant woman? Hmmmmm?

OohMavis · 10/05/2016 13:50

YABU in any case, ice cream for breakfast sounds like a spiffing idea.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 10/05/2016 14:15

Yuck, I wouldn't eat it at any time of day, pregnant or not.

Mrscog · 10/05/2016 16:12

Yum, sounds amazing - what's the issue?

HermioneJeanGranger · 10/05/2016 16:32

I had chocolate chip cookies for breakfast and I'm definitely not pregnant!

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 10/05/2016 16:34

My impression is that the OP is not the pregnant woman who had Bailey's Ice Cream for breakfast.

FlowersAndShit · 10/05/2016 16:43

Why do women do this?

  • I forgot to brush my hair... but in my defence, i'm pregnant
  • I just ate a massive slice of cake... but to be fair to myself i'm pregnant/breastfeeding
  • I just ran over next door's cat... but I'm pregnant
  • I've stayed in my PJ's all day... because i'm pregnant
I haven't showered for 3 days... but i'm pregnant

We get it. Your husband/bofriend shagged you and now your up the duff. Congratulations.

MiffleTheIntrovert · 10/05/2016 16:57

Any need for that really, Flowers? Hmm

FWIW, I don't think OP is the pregnant women referred to either first which is why I asked. The only person who gets a say in what pregnant person does with their own body is pregnant person. It would worry me if this was a DH or DP posting this.

Katiepoes · 10/05/2016 16:59

Is it the Baileys part you object to? Or the ice cream?

Ice cream in a brioche type bun is an actual breakfast in Sicily. Those people truly know how to live.

honeylulu · 10/05/2016 17:10

One day between Christmas and New year (when all rules of normality are suspended) I gave my children leftover Christmas pudding with ice cream for breakfast.

DoesAnyoneReadTheseThings · 10/05/2016 17:12

Meh pregnant or not eat what you want but to be honest if you're growing a whole new person and you want to do that while shoving ice cream down your throat then I think you should do just that!

AlpacaPicnic · 10/05/2016 17:28

Well I had a Magnum for breakfast while walking to work one hot summers day. Why? Because I'm an adult and I could. People walking past looked very jealous.

And I wasn't even pregnant. I'm just fat.
