Mother sues for £20k for being discouraged from bf while the wave machine was on

Daily Mirror link to the story here.

I'm totally for breastfeeding wherever and whenever, but I wouldn't want to eat my sandwiches in a swimming pool - they are so germy, like a human soup, so not sure a swimming pool with a wave machine on would be the best place to bf. Plus, obviously in this case there was the waves.

I realise that getting out of the water, especially if she had other kids, with a hungry baby would be a massive faff, but wouldn't the wave machine splash the baby and make it choke?

Serious question: AIBU to think this? Is bf in a swimming pool a done thing? Genuinely curious.

Is a vegan burger just the bun with the gherkin?

MangoMoon · 02/05/2016 23:12

What is she a 'fighter' for? Not common sense obviously.

I know the original writer of the story Rosae and I know them to be a fine journalist. As a reporter myself, I also know that when people are not keen on the way a story may have been reported (with balance, after the reporter has not just accepted the story they have been told and has gone to the 'other side' for comment) that they trot out the same, tired old line that 'the media' have not reported the full story, that they are biased, etc etc. It's bullshit. The story is accurate. I know the pool involved and I know that the Trust involved can ill afford to be giving 20k of taxpayers' cash to some idiotic woman who thinks that sitting feeding a baby in what are actually very strong waves is a sensible idea.

Maryz, they do a lovely vegetarian burger with or without spicy sauce but not on the Happy Meal menu.

MidniteScribbler · 02/05/2016 23:46

Stupid attention seeking dickhead. Nothing else in life except the fact that milk comes out of her boobs.

I breastfed for twelve months, never posted a picture of me doing it on facebook, never tweeted it, never got told to cover up or move. If women just got on with it, instead of making a song and dance about it, then it would become more normalised, which is what idiots like this woman claim to want.

Looking at her social she seems to define her whole being by her bf'ing. I wonder what will happen when her children outgrow it?

Catzpyjamas · 02/05/2016 23:57

For Mary's - McDonald's UK veggie meals

Catzpyjamas · 02/05/2016 23:58

Maryz stupid autocorrect

MangoMoon · 03/05/2016 00:16

Her whole being seems to be defined by her being a mumma & a vegan.

There is literally nothing else that she talks about other than breastfeeding, babywearing, co-sleeping, home-educating, and being vegan.

She seems to spend most of her time searching out things to complain about.

bloodyteenagers · 03/05/2016 01:35

I think I have seen her boobs more than my own.
When did flashing your tits become a thing when bfing.. I understand the early weeks, when it's all new. But then there's no need?

Anyway she needs to go and eat a steak and get herself a life. It's like all she does is look for things to get offended about. Most of the stuff she spouts is pure drivvle.

Bet all the supermarkets lurve dealing with her.

Someone asked what she will do when the children no longer want the boob. She will become one of those sellers. The aloe Vera, the make up craze or whatever annoying fad is around.

Strange my other HE parents not only post stuff about what they care about but also about what they've been doing. Ideas for stuff. Sharing fun activities they have done. Even the wild creations.

MidniteScribbler · 03/05/2016 02:05

Oh god, I just saw the boob cake!

Wtf do people like her do, when they have a baby that fir whatever reason just doesn't feed dd was small and with zero suck reflex. she struggled to feed work a bottle at first.

a difficult pregnancy , poor fort and being in and out of hospital for several.weeks abd being on and off iv nutrition/ restricted feesds not to mention shitty hospital food fir me. I couldn't have breast fed even if I'd have wanted to. (I had already chosen bottle but not the point) I had no milk. she couldn't feed.

she's lucky. she git lucky in that it went well and she could continue.

why not just be thankful for that rather than.male such a huge deal out of it

Gileswithachainsaw · 03/05/2016 07:14

Dd was on restricted feeds/ivs. not me

MidniteScribbler · 03/05/2016 07:24

Yes, I hate breastfeeders who think they have achieved something incredibly wonderful by just because they procreated and produced milk from their breasts. Or the ones who think that having a natural birth means they are superior over every other woman on the planet. Great, well done, now fuck off and do something important with your life.

Buckinbronco · 03/05/2016 07:29

I don't understand how she's home educating when according to her Instagram she has 2 children of 3 & 1.

It's says something when you're so desperate to fit in with a movement you adapt it 2 years before you need to practise it

Buckinbronco · 03/05/2016 07:30

Ha! All that midnite scribbler. I adore BF but if that's all I'd done with my life i would be very disappointed!

Jasonandyawegunorts · 03/05/2016 07:42

This particular women would probably sue the Nurse that delivered it.

unimagmative13 · 03/05/2016 07:46

It's not positive AT ALL in supporting women BF

People need to realise that formula bashing is not the way to positively promote BF.

What the hell was she doing in McDonald's anyway! Just so she could complain about them?

Also publicly tweeting all the major supermarkets about the fruit not being vegan. WTF she probably doesn't even shop there!

Aeroflotgirl · 03/05/2016 07:51

What will she do with herself once her kids are grown up and no longer bf, wearing cloth nappies and able to be erm worn, she sounds quite burning and self absorbed and is not normalising bf one bit. Most bf women do not behave like her!

Aeroflotgirl · 03/05/2016 07:55

Oh god I have to read her Twitter 😁

Gileswithachainsaw · 03/05/2016 08:11

I shouldn't laugh...

bloodyteenagers · 03/05/2016 08:39

I am wondering if she is well.
All this complaining and looking for problems in everything isn't healthy. She seems obsessed.
She seems to have no trust at all in hcps' and comes across in thinking that she is superior to them in her training, so I wonder if she would trust them to talk about the issues that she seems to be having.

And the picture in the mirror. Is it just me who thinks she looks out of it?
