Unmumsy Mum Confusion

I'm just reading this and it says she found out she was pregnant but didn't know as she had irregular periods. Fair enough.

She then goes on to say that 'according to the Babycenter app I was already 7 weeks pregnant'

Eh? Is it psychic? How is this possible that an app know how far along she is?

This is so much a plug!

Shallowstreams · 26/04/2016 17:11

All the people that think this is a plug thread. Who do you think I would be that would be plugging a book by saying it doesn't make sense and then going on to say I'm not enjoying it.

To you I say - don't ever go into PR. Or probably any other decent job.

OP posts:
LagunaBubbles · 26/04/2016 17:13

No idea who you are Shallow but its called reverse psychology - say something is bad and people want to check it out for themselves.

notamummy10 · 26/04/2016 17:31

Laguna has a point.

Even though your criticism about her is negative, you've still given her publicity by naming her and mentioning her book... So now she'll be getting traffic to her blog!

TiggerPiggerPoohBumWee · 26/04/2016 17:32

A plug doesn't need to be positive, at all. Like a small kid who wants any attention, even negative.
You must not be in PR if you don't realise that. Or any other decent job?

Shallowstreams · 26/04/2016 17:35

So all you people who think she sounds shit and her blog is hateful will now go and check it out. I suppose you can't account for stupidity!

OP posts:
notamummy10 · 26/04/2016 17:39

anyone who comes across this thread, which is public for anyone to see btw (including non-member after a quick google) will see you've named her and will go and find her blog if they're interested.

Why do you think Katie Hopkins or the Kardashians are still a thing? Because of publicity.

GrouchyKiwi · 26/04/2016 17:40

Thanks to this thread, I have now discovered that when people say "plug" I immediately think of the mucus plug lost when going into labour.

Lolly86 · 26/04/2016 17:46

I got this book as a present for my birthday. It's a bit meh... I couldn't really relate to it at all. Maybe I am a Mumsy mum...

Shallowstreams · 26/04/2016 17:48

I'm really not sure why you're so angry that someone has discussed someone who writes a blog in case it gives publicity? I'm not being paid to mention her. I don't know her. People mention books and people and things all the time on the Internet. So why is this making you so angry? Is it because you were wrong that this is a 'plug' and therefore it hasn't been deleted and you feel silly?

So why is this making you so angry?

You're the only one who sounds a little angry to be honest OP Confused

I don't think any one else cares a great deal.

TiggerPiggerPoohBumWee · 26/04/2016 18:00

So all you people who think she sounds shit and her blog is hateful will now go and check it out. I suppose you can't account for stupidity!

You're really not grasping the concepts involved are you?

Again, you're not really in the best place to be calling anyone silly. Your original OP was that you thought an app might be psychic. Not exactly in the running for brain of Britain, are you?

Shallowstreams · 26/04/2016 18:16

Tigger I'll take it you're joking and not that you took from my post that I thought the app was psychic.

It's a shame that you and others have felt the need to pounce on a silly lighthearted post and poke and twist it and accuse me of all sorts of things. I guess I shouldn't have risen to it as I should have realised by now that some people online, as in real life, go out of their way to be upsetting to others. I take solace in the fact that's not me.

OP posts:
TiggerPiggerPoohBumWee · 26/04/2016 18:25

I took from your OP that you are easily confused and from your later ones that you're rude and argumentative.
And it still reads like a bad plugbot.

Shallowstreams · 26/04/2016 18:34

I refer you to my post above. Amazing, that's actually made me giggle, thanks!

Do you work in HR, Shallow? Your people skills are superb.

Riversiderunner · 26/04/2016 22:09

Gotta say, Shallow, it reads like a massive blatant plug to me.

FirstWeTake seems to have you bang to rights

Shallowstreams · 26/04/2016 22:17

No. I write a blog. It's quite popular

OP posts:
ouryve · 26/04/2016 22:28

Must be the way you engage with people.

Orwellschild · 26/04/2016 23:14

Is it a really successful events company blog??

Shallowstreams · 27/04/2016 09:17

Oh god that was a joke. As in you all thought I was promoting that woman's blog......I think I'll leave this thread here as you all seem to be quite dour and humourless

OP posts:
FirstWeTakeManhattan · 27/04/2016 10:47

I know. We need to be more hilarious. Hilarious yet real and telling it 'like it really is.'

Anyway. Must go, I need to start hopelessly staring at toddlers making a mess yet know that I love them, and then slip on a bit of banana and cry yet laugh at the same time. I'll then hilariously take them to the park and wonder if 'this is all there is?' whilst loving them. The toddler will wipe an ice cream over my eyes and i'll cry and laugh again. It'll be hilarious. I'm not an Alpha mum. They all have this sussed. I'm just hilariously trying my best.

ouryve · 27/04/2016 13:49

Yep. You got me. I apologise for being so deadly serious.
