Or do other people have THAT PERSON as well?

That Person who you irrationally dislike be they a celeb, someone you know, or a family member, the criteria being they are harmless and have done nothing to warrant your dislike of them except their very personality?

And you know that the fact you don't like them is really unreasonable but they make you absolutely seethe?

Or AIBU?

How has no one mentioned Barbara Windsor yet? Although my hatred of her isn't irrational as far as I'm concerned.

mrskim123 · 25/04/2016 15:18

It's irrational but I really don't like Posh Spice - she's got all that money but always looks so damn miserable. Yes I know that she's probably needy, hates her teeth and skin, is insecure from schooldays etc, but please bloody well cheer up.

WindPowerRanger · 25/04/2016 15:23

The small gang of sharp-elbowed white middle-class parents at our DCs' (rapidly gentrifying) school. Every year the group gets a bit larger, like a mould stain on a ceiling. Full of themselves, full of virtue and overconfidence and full of their trendy liberalism and the superiority of their children.

Except they are actually selfish, neurotically pushy ill-mannered people who are horribly intolerant of anyone of a different class, outlook or race (unless a well-paid foreign expat professional, for whom an exception can be made).

Fortunately they rarely speak to DH (Northern working class) and even more rarely to me (black) unless they find out our jobs (pretty good) when we are suddenly worth saying hello to in the playground.

sami2885 · 25/04/2016 15:27

Oh bewilderedfish Kathryn jenkins, totally agree!

And Charlotte bloody Church!

Oh and i absolutely HATE fiona Philips - I could actually kill her (I really wouldn't so don't call the police! Lol). I don't know why, she just irritates the life out of me!

seriouslynoidea · 25/04/2016 15:27

HOW did I forget Amanda Holden? Face cast in concrete. Brain seemingly the same

Roussette · 25/04/2016 15:35

Yes to Victoria Beckham, would it hurt just once to laugh or smile? I'm sick of your miserable face and your own label clothes that are huge on your beyond skinny body with one hand tucked into the pocket and your head tilted...

and breathe....

Amanda Holden, yes. Plastic face and I swear if I hear her awful laugh one more time I might do damage to my telly.

Justin Bieber. 'Nuff said.

Ditto, Miley Cyrus.

Christiano Ronaldo. Can't look at him. Very unlikeable. Arrogance personified.

Janey50 · 25/04/2016 15:35

Yes I have a celebrity one. Naming no names but she NEVER EVER smiles and always seems to be wearing sunglasses, whatever the weather. I just dislike her because she looks like a miserable, stuck-up cow.

Tribblewithoutacause · 25/04/2016 15:44

I dislike Tom Cruise, although I think I'm entirely justified in that one.

A lot of the school gate parents, just can not be bothered with em all. They all seem like alright people, but after 'coatgate' I've decided that they all need a collective grip.

apismalifica · 25/04/2016 15:48

I'm one of the posters who has had someone who irrationally hated me! This ghastly woman used to sneer, blank me at the school gates, was mega bitchy about me at every opportunity, did horrible impersonations of me after I let the room at a party and didn't care that she did this in front of a close friend of mine - so assume it was supposed to get back to me. She was much more nasty that was remotely reasonable given that I'm only met her once, briefly, when she started doing this. I didn't even say if I liked Cliff Richards or not so that can't have been the reason, I don't park on yellow lines at the school gate either. It actually did have an impact on my life as it disrupted a school Mums type social group as they chose to think it was all rather amusing and also started to blank me at the school gate and stopped their children playing with mine. I guess it was a huge bonus that I found out what sort of people they were so I didn't have to waste time on them..... I can only think it was just because she was jealous that I lived in a bigger house than her, in a better street, had a great job and lived next door to someone influential who worked at the BBC that she was very clearly slavering to get in with........ In some ways I hope she reads this and sees herself for what she is.

The80sweregreat · 25/04/2016 15:56

Wind, poor you having to put up with that crowd! Teeth gritting I bet.

The thing I dislike most about 'posh' VB is the way she is trying so hard to make her only daughter ' mini me' - I really hope Harper ditches the fashion when she is older and goes for a really normal look from the high street and sticks two fingers up to it all ( mum, got these trackie bottoms out of sports direct' , would send her insane no doubt!) cant see it happening though.
posh looks the kind of woman that's just hard to get on with and I avoid those types at all costs. Although I did used to work with someone who had the same face as her - never ever smiled, constantly moaning and had the most negative air all the time! hard fucking work - yet some people really liked her ( she hated me)

wol1968 · 25/04/2016 15:59

janey come on, we all know who you mean - she wouldn't happen to be a WAG (ret'd) turned fashion designer would she who once made her name pretending to sing ?

Grin

Mine (apart from the usual suspects, Davina, Myleene, Kate Winslet etc.) is Lucy Worsley. I love the content of her programmes. But I just have to keep gritting my teeth to get past her awful nasal delivery - it's real fingernail-on-blackboard stuff.

Also not keen on Jools Oliver, not sure why. I can articulate why her husband irritates me. But she just seems to radiate an I-know-so-much-better-than-you-about-parenthood smugness about her that gets me on edge. I read an autobiography of hers once, about her struggle to conceive her first child, that was billed as 'achingly funny' or some such thing, but turned out to be the most vapid ramble I'd ever come across, like a Telegraph 'humorous' parenting column on steroids.

Roussette · 25/04/2016 16:00

I've read she's got a great sense of humour (VB) but for god's sake woman let it show! The same pose for 15 years or whatever is now wearing a bit thin. I want to see her personality and want her to look happy as opposed to looking like she has all the troubles of the world on her shoulders. Can you imagine her throwing her head back and laughing, proper laughing. I can't

5tardusty · 25/04/2016 16:04

Love Lucy Worsely

Loathe Kylie Minogue

vladthedisorganised · 25/04/2016 16:06

Fearne Cotton, for being unnervingly cheerful.
Paul McCartney, for the thumbs-up thing.

A friend of MILs, for the fact that DD once asked her "can I please use the loo?" (DD was 3 at the time) and MIL's friend said pointedly "You MAY use the one downstairs". I'm sure she's OK most of the time, but even I don't do pedantry with 3 year olds and I admit that I am a grammar obsessive.

Roversandrhodes · 25/04/2016 16:27

Wouldn't say I disliked her but someone mentioned Davina McCall and she is SO smug about the fact she doesn't eat sugar.Like she wants a bloody medal or something !

Roversandrhodes · 25/04/2016 16:29

I too find the Holly and Philip relationship fake as f.Like stop trying to make it happen guys, does anyone actually believe they like each other as much as they pretend too ? My mum has genuine irrational hatred for Steven Mulhern but I don't mind the guy.

Joolsy · 25/04/2016 16:38

I really cannot stand Katie Price. I keep waiting for her to say something half intelligent, but it never happens. It must be quite a gift though to be that dumb but think you're bright. On the plus side every time I watch her I feel as clever as Einstein

Joolsy · 25/04/2016 16:40

PS I do love Fiona Phillips though

littlejeopardy · 25/04/2016 16:49

Lady at work, who hasn't done a thing against me. Just seems a bit dim and has a pointy face. They aren't very good reasons for not liking someone are they?

I do feel guilty for not liking her and try not to let it show.

OnlyLovers · 25/04/2016 16:55

Just seems a bit dim and has a pointy face
Grin

I totally get that. Irrational but you just can't shake it. I have someone I dislike for the way he walks.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 25/04/2016 17:02

See I think Kirsty Allsopp just is what she is, no pretence about her. She is always unfailingly charming to the, often horrendous, housebuyers she has to deal with. She's not smug either, and not perfect.

Eveninties · 25/04/2016 17:07

Lorraine kelly!! Her voice hurts my ears. I am also glaswegian but for some reason hearing her talk makes me want to punch her.

Eveninties · 25/04/2016 17:13

And Keira knightly. Glaikit looking scary toothed bitch. Bit harsh sorry but I'm in a stinker of a pmt mood today..

mrskim123 · 25/04/2016 17:13

I must add that I don't like Alex Jones (professional Welshwoman), Kate Garraway (little piggy eyes - no, all that slap doesn't hide it), Peter Kay (professional Northerner) and Nicki Chapman (who could put a ridiculous 'spin' on Hitler). I've mentioned that I can't stand Posh Spice as she never smiles but again I can't stand Myleen Klass as she never stops grinning. Not keen on folks with pointy chins either. Am I hard to please? Never!

OnlyLovers · 25/04/2016 17:14

Glaikit looking scary toothed bitch. Grin Grin Grin

I used to live in Glasgow. This makes me really miss it.
