That Person who you irrationally dislike be they a celeb, someone you know, or a family member, the criteria being they are harmless and have done nothing to warrant your dislike of them except their very personality?

And you know that the fact you don't like them is really unreasonable but they make you absolutely seethe?

Or AIBU?

Joan piggin Collins !!
Says she's 82 , when she's 85.
Says she's never had plastic surgery.
Lying toad !!

HalfpintPixie · 25/04/2016 12:17

I hated my health visitor. She was condescending and nosy and bad her job. Thing is, she thought we were great friends. She asked for my parents phone number (just in case) then phoned my mum and told her how well we were getting on! Confused
Bit of a nut job, maybe.

Hellanddalmatian · 25/04/2016 12:19

Niaus his wife IS irritating. Something smug about her. She looks like one of those 'professional girlfriend' types.
There's a woman living around the corner from me who annoys me as she walks like she deliberately wants her bum to sway as she's walking, as if it's sexy. It's not. It's sad.
One of my 'friends' who is always after free childcare.

mygorgeousmilo · 25/04/2016 12:22

Yes to alpha mums (or those that pretend to be) at school, Lee Evans, Mylene Klass, and the support workers at children's centres that talk to you as if you're stupid and don't understand how to keep your child healthy! Nicholas Cage! People that sneer at you for not having a shitty husband/father of child. I know people love them, but if Ant and Dec are on anything - I switch off

OnlyLovers · 25/04/2016 12:24

wheel, how interesting. A 'blackness'. Isn't it odd how we sense things?

Reminded me, a friend of mine saw Charles Saatchi in the street and said he looked like 'a miserable sod'. This is a woman who has hardly a bad word to say about anyone, and never ever swears (and yes, she'd count 'sod' as swearing).

mygorgeousmilo · 25/04/2016 12:26

Me too! I inexplicably hate his guts, and I've never heard him speak or listened to his music. He's just giving of a bastard vibe somehow

Boomingmarvellous · 25/04/2016 12:28

I've often found people who make my flesh crawl turn out to to have very dark secrets.

Jimmy Saville and many of his cronies were vile long before they were exposed.

On a less dark note. Kerry katona

Glitterspy · 25/04/2016 12:30

Chris Martin. If I don't like people IRL I tend to avoid them/ ignore them.

Boomingmarvellous · 25/04/2016 12:31

Oh Keith Lemon. I could throw him off a cliff.

HiddlestonTurnerSandwich · 25/04/2016 12:32

Binkermum29 Have read through entire thread to see if anyone else has a mutual hatred of Fiona Bruce - at last, someone else who agrees with me!!! Smug, insincere, loves-herself-to-pieces, have to switch over if she's on. Even reads tragic news stories with a smug evil grin on her face. Why oh why is she on tv????

Glitterspy · 25/04/2016 12:34

Ooh ooh and Jo Whiley. God I hate her smug sycophantic face and stupid breathy cool teenager voice.

Alisvolatpropiis · 25/04/2016 12:40

Generally speaking I don't think I irrationally dislike anybody I know in real life. I have got reasons! Celebrities though, Sara Cox as previously mentioned, is far from the only one.

GoodbyeBlueMonday · 25/04/2016 12:43

Bill Paxton. I don't know why but I utterly despise him and have for years. I was 15 when Titanic came out and all my friends went mental over it but I could never enjoy it because of his big stupid face. Even all these later I don't know why I hate him so much, what it is about him in particular, but he gives me the absolute rage.

glowfrog · 25/04/2016 12:44

MattDillonsPants

What's the way to say it completely in French please?

"Elle/il a une véritable tête à claque!"

glowfrog · 25/04/2016 12:45

Goodbye

It's game over, man - game over!

kezzy13 · 25/04/2016 12:46

Michael "I'll laugh at my own jokes cause I'm so fucking hilarious" McIntyre Angry

Yesvember · 25/04/2016 12:47

Mark flaming Rylance. I am willing to accept he's the most marvellous darling actor of our generation, a total genius etc but he gives me the screaming ab-dabs. When he talks normally, or tries to, I feel him to be false. Double biscuits to him.

piggypoo · 25/04/2016 12:48

Yes I cannot stand Noel Edmonds, but I have a feeling that I am not on my own in this one, and after the Crinkly Bottom debacle, when he shot those elephants, oh, and Katie Hopkins, I can't stand her either, and Piers Morgan, and also that Vernon Kaye, I could go on but I won't! :)

wheelofapps · 25/04/2016 12:58

Only I DO think that people's 'characters' can show in their faces / 'vibe'.

Mind you, this is a dangerous line of thought - the Victorians thought that 'criminal traits' could be measured (quite literally) on faces (too close eyes, heavy brows, cranial measurements, which is clearly tosh).

Obviously, you can 'look' like a thug, as it were' and be lovely, and look like a polished person, a la Hoogstraten, and be a criminal murderer.
However, there IS a vibe around evil, I believe.

On a lighter note, my 'tete a claques' (sorry, don't know how to do accents) are:

Nicola Sturgeon and George Osborne. I hate them for their (equally vile) politics but also for their smuggity smugness and desire to tell me how to live my life (and to control it as much as possible). If I see Osborne on TV I turn over. If I see his pic in a newspaper, I turn it over, much like I would if there were a picture of a tarantula (a much nicer animal than him, I believe) on it.
I have met Sturgeon and she was very civil and really nice to my children.
I had to put my hands in my pockets though Wink

GrandMarmoset · 25/04/2016 12:59

Bruce Forsythe makes my skin crawl.

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 25/04/2016 13:01

Yy to Kerry Katona - the woman's a disaster. If there was ever a poster girl for twat magnets, it's her. I also wish - selfishly, yes - that she wasn't quite such a vocal poster girl for bipolar disorder. I admit I have complex feelings about my own illness at play there though!

GoblinLittleOwl · 25/04/2016 13:02

Obama.
Slick, smooth, second-rate.

Londonmamabychance · 25/04/2016 13:04

Generally you dislike people irrationally (not taking people who deserve your dislike for being actual a-holes) because there's something in them that either corresponds with your own weak poins (noting as annoying as seeing your own faults reflected in others) you're a bit jealous of them, or you're just generally in need of a random outlet for some pent up frustration. We've all been there! : ) what I've come to realise though, through intensely and unfairly disliking loads of people IRL and celebrities (realising I may now render myself a disliked person due to what may be perceived as a hippyish attitude, and taking a lighthearted subject serious, but..) is that if I can be bothered to honestly examine the reasons why I feel that way, the dislike evaporates and I learn something about myself and my current emotional state, bonus all around!

nixie60 · 25/04/2016 13:05

GirlfromMars - Yes to Claudia Winkelman! Can't stand her, don't know why exactly. And I hate Tess Daly too with her faux accent and peculiar wardrobe, so don't watch SCD any more!

Roversandrhodes · 25/04/2016 13:06
