That Person who you irrationally dislike be they a celeb, someone you know, or a family member, the criteria being they are harmless and have done nothing to warrant your dislike of them except their very personality?

And you know that the fact you don't like them is really unreasonable but they make you absolutely seethe?

Or AIBU?

Obama yes, such a disappointment. His remarks about the Special Olympics were unforgivable.

Janus · 25/04/2016 13:08

Ricky (so not funny) Gervais, who loves himself despite him being utter crap
Liz Hurley, god she's just awful
Robby Williams (will probably be unpopular that one, but I think he's an utter arse!)
Cheryl Cole (or whatever her surname is this week)
There's probably more!! Not really anyone in real life but sometime I sort of dislike people, not an utter hatred (as those above are!!) but a general 'can't be bothered' sort of feeling and usually I have time for most people! It's a weird feeling as I know it's totally irrational and not really based on much and I do feel bad for not liking them more!!

Londonmamabychance · 25/04/2016 13:08

..so by this I do not mean sidling someone for a reason, like I intensely dislike George Osborne and even more our PM too, but I think that's very rational and justified emotions, given that they are doing the exact opposite to society than what I believe is right and best for all of us, so no intention of analysing that dislike away!

Roversandrhodes · 25/04/2016 13:10

Also anyone who posts 'feeling blessed' on fb ...should just say 'feeling smug as f'

And people who overly gush about their children or oh on fb and comment on how their child has been through 'so much' when in reality they just got over chicken pox.

People who refer to their child as 'little legs' Confused or 'little man'

And people who call their oh 'sexy' on social media .Theyre never sexy.

awaits backlash from posts

caitlinohara · 25/04/2016 13:11

Keira Knightley. She may be perfectly nice but she does this weird gurning thing with her jaw all the time and it drives me crackers.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 25/04/2016 13:11

Every single female presenter they have ever had on Countryfile. But Julia Bradbury is the worst. She is so smug, and so dull and DH luffs her.

Colourfulpast1975 · 25/04/2016 13:13

I'm sure I'm that person to someone ! My one is a lady that I see on the school run, can't bear her and her face...what is her crime ? Years ago at playgroup I complimented her on her daughter (very pretty)...instead of saying thank you, she gave me a dirty look..if I could shit on her shoes, I would !

dizzytomato · 25/04/2016 13:18

I've often found people who make my flesh crawl turn out to to have very dark secrets. this is so true.

There was a woman at the school my children used to attend. I didn't like her, I used to want to wrap her baggy harem pants around her annoying face. I have no idea why she rubbed me up the wrong way but she just oozed snobbery and had a face like a slapped arse.

SharkSkinThing · 25/04/2016 13:19

Someone at work. On paper she's fine, friendly, sociable, never been unpleasant to me.

But she does no work. She is always floating about the office banging on about her 'other' job, (she's a p/t tutor), and uses any and every opportunity to drop in to the conversation how important she is, how she's writing this paper or meeting with that person.

Lazy and bragging are my two least favourite character traits. And she's got both.

Alisvolatpropiis · 25/04/2016 13:20

Rover

I don't find little man overly offensive.

"Sexy little man" however makes me want to petrol bomb their house. So inappropriate.

RhombusRiley · 25/04/2016 13:20

I think your dh fancying someone can add special bile to your dislike if you're that way inclined :o. I don't like angelina Jolie much, I can admire some of the things she's done but her face and posing really irritates me. However it's the fact that exP always drooled over her that really did it for me. I don't mind if I can see the attraction. But with her I just wanted to rant "Oh REALLY purLEASE, have some imagination!"

dizzytomato · 25/04/2016 13:23

The famous person I can't stand is Mick Jagger. I quite like the Rolling Stones. I have seen them live twice and it was a really nice experience other than having to watch than little worm wiggling and prancing about on the stage.

bigpigsmum · 25/04/2016 13:23

David Walliams his face looks like it wants punching all smarmy and 'aren't I so good I do this and this, I write books for children and scripts and I'm on X bloody factor...' (or whatever it is). With a strong wet wipe I'm sure the smile would rub off!

A dislike of Katie Hopkins is completely rational! She's a fucking bitch.

Flumplet · 25/04/2016 13:26

Michael Fucking Ball. I'm sure he's just an all round great guy and all, but his singing face pisses me right off.

GoodbyeBlueMonday · 25/04/2016 13:28

glowfrog, apart from him getting eaten that is another good film ruined! I seriously don't understand the point in him or why anyone would cast him in anything.

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 25/04/2016 13:28

To the PP who mentioned Joan Collins - when she first appeared in the Benidorm TV series, she was wearing a low cut dress and they'd clearly put some kind of of blurry filter over her chest area in post production, to smooth out the appearance of the skin. DH thought I was talking bollocks I'm prone to it, but the filter shifted an inch or so in one shot and her real skin tone was clearly visible. Maybe they were trying to make her character appear younger, but fuck me, HOW vain?!

Roversandrhodes · 25/04/2016 13:28

I'm actually starting to find Jamie Oliver and his 'dogooder' routine a bit old and I didn't mind him for the longest time ,same goes for his wife.I think his latest comments on bf riled me a bit though so this is probably an rational dislike .They both just seem a bit goody goody!

nixie60 · 25/04/2016 13:36

beachcomber123

Oh god, yes to Kanye, arrogant twat. Although not really irrational cos he deserves it after murdering Bohemian Rhapsody...

notoTTIP · 25/04/2016 13:40

Two people, both I irrationally disliked because they just seemed sooo nice, I thought it was a big act and they were putting it on. But no they are that nice.
One of the women I met through a club and I thought she was being so supportive and encouraging for ulterior motives, but no she really is that nice and is razor sharp, turns out she is a psychotherapist and we now have fascinating conversations, amazing as she nearly put me off joining the club.

OldnKnackered · 25/04/2016 13:44

Katie Melua!! Cannot fucking stand the woman. Totally irrational but ever since she first came out with that 'crazy' song I literally cannot be in the room when she's on. Then I met my husband who for some reason thinks she's fab which just infuriates me even more!
And Paul McCartney. Also irrational but I find him immensely smug and also cannot stand his music (I know everyone seems to love him, I just can't understand it. Baffles me).

ShapeBandit77 · 25/04/2016 13:44

The guy who hosts This week - Andrew Neil I think, with Diane Abbot and Michael Portillo at his side. He winds me up something chronic. No reason why. Confused

BirthdayBetty · 25/04/2016 13:49

I think that all 'celebrity chefs' should face death by electric chair, with Gordon Ramsey first in the queue.

Mrsnoo72 · 25/04/2016 13:51

People who don't let their kids watch (even educational) TV and make disparaging comments when your child mentions a programme they've watched.

Also those who disapprove of my kids' playing with Nerf guns (plastic bright-coloured "guns" that shoot foam darts) - my son and daughter both enjoy them. We gave some for Christmas for boy and girl friends and the parents' faces were something else - I can only call it disgust. They weren't allowed them.

In both cases I feel so judged for my parenting choices as if I'm fatally damaging my kids for watching the telly or playing a game, FFS

bialystockandbloom · 25/04/2016 13:53

The only person I have an irrational dislike of is Caroline Quentin. I have no idea why, she's probably really lovely, and I feel a bit guilty about it. But I can't stand her.

Everyone else I dislike is for a Perfectly Valid Reason.
