Just heard the news about Princes death is true and not a hoax as originally thought.

Is there a hex on people, even in my world, people are dying around us left, right and centre Sad

Does seem a tad relentless this year Organon

Because celebraties are dying?

Guess ordinary people dying is not relentless then

MsJamieFraser · 21/04/2016 18:48

AnyFucker, nothing has been reported yet

RaspberryOverload · 21/04/2016 18:48

I've not yet seen anything anywhere that suggests the cause of death, although some reports are linking it to his trip to hospital last week.

BadDoGooder · 21/04/2016 18:49

I was just commenting on this to DP.

Lemmy was the biggest kicker for me celebrity wise (not on that Telegraph list I notice!) but it does seem to be relentless this year.
It doesn't help that I have lost two friends this year already, one of whom was only 34 and it was completely unexpected. Sad

It feels like the year of death for me, and those poor refugees this week as well, I can't get my head around that, or why so many people seem to care more about one popstar than about 500 refugees. (I am aware of the contradiction in my post btw!)

WeMustSurelyBeLearning · 21/04/2016 18:51

There was a blind gossip story a few days ago which was generally agreed to be about him and would explain his death.

I think Lemmy was 2015, which was why he wasn't on the Telegraph list.

Lulu1083 · 21/04/2016 18:52

Bad - Lemmy died in December 2015, that's why he's not on the list. He was the start of it for me though, it's been so frequent since then.

MsJamieFraser · 21/04/2016 18:53

Maybe you missed the part where people where dying around me Organon

This year alone I have had to bury my cousin at the age of 34, leaving behind her 4 year old daughter and her 18 year old daughter, my dh cousin (who he is very close too) buried his first born still born child. My mums bio dad died, a friend died aged 28, and a work friend dropped down dead and another of terminal cancer.

I do love Hmm when people only "see" one one part of a post and not read all of it Hmm

MintyChapstick · 21/04/2016 18:53

It does seem relentless doesn't it, and it's not even half way through the year yet. I'm starting to wonder who's going to be next?

Personally Ive also already lost a close family member. What a fucking shit year 2016 has been so far!

CountessOfStrathearn · 21/04/2016 18:54

Lemmy is on the 2015 list:

www.telegraph.co.uk/music/news/culture-stars-who-died-in-2015/lemmy-kilmister-motorhead/

BlackMarigold · 21/04/2016 18:56

Even though 57 seems comparatively young, Prince was part of the post war Baby Boomer population bulge . As previously mentioned there were a lot of celebs in that group so there'll be proportionately more deaths.

Jujuheyhey · 21/04/2016 18:57

The problem is it's all good people dying, not bells like Farage. No way you're winning that sweepstake, Gunny Grin

BadDoGooder · 21/04/2016 18:58

Ah I stand corrected!

I think because it's been so constant, I've just lumped them all together.

Lemnmy did seem to be the start of this run? deluge? of deaths, glad I'm not the only one who felt it.

MsJamieFraser Flowers
I know what you mean, it feels a little like deaths hanging around us all this year, I'm so sorry for your losses.

originalmavis · 21/04/2016 18:58

Its true. I can't believe it. Bloody hell, who next?

SpringingIntoAction · 21/04/2016 18:58

We live in an age of global media

The sheer number of people you have been exposed to will be much, much greater than the smaller number of people your grandparents 'knew of' in the days before mass media of TV etc

People age and die

You could expect a 'famous' death almost every day from now on.

Ihangmyknickersontheline · 21/04/2016 18:59

Its just awful....so so sad!

colleysmill · 21/04/2016 18:59

This week seems very high celeb wise : Prince, Victoria wood and I've just seen reports of Percy sledge and a wwf wrestler Chyna.

BadDoGooder · 21/04/2016 19:01

Oh and I'm not "woo" at all btw, it just feels, combined with my personal and v unexpected losses this year already, like it's "too much". I am aware thats probably silly!

MintyChapstick · 21/04/2016 19:01

I think I know which blind item the previous poster is refering to. I won't say what it included for obvious reasons. But yes it would explain his sudden passing.

whatsthatcomingoverthehill · 21/04/2016 19:04

I thought it was about twice the average of the last few years. Will be interesting to see if there is a regression to mean over the rest of the year.

Gide · 21/04/2016 19:04

He said he wasn't well!

AnyFucker · 21/04/2016 19:06

What minty ?

Fannycraddock79 · 21/04/2016 19:09

Yes minty I also saw that item so was already expecting this but not so soon. Flu they said in the paper but I won't repeat what blind gossip are saying even though it does make sense.
