Sell them on Facebook to get rid of the temptation.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 20/04/2016 14:13

Oh that's rubbish. Do you have anyone you can give them to? Don't smoke them or you'll have to give up again next week!

Bluecarrot · 20/04/2016 14:13

You have got past the hardest few days. Don't make yourself go through it again!

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 20/04/2016 14:14

Because your beautiful lungs which you need to keep you alive will turn black and cold and cease to function.

You will die a long, slow death gripping an oxygen mask as tightly as you can despite knowing it won't save you. I've seen it happen. It's grim.

A week? Congrats! Awesome work!!

Don't smoke - it makes you stink. It makes your breath stink. You just don't realize yet how bad it made you smell. And you've done a whole week without one - don't give up giving up. You can do it.

WonderingAspie · 20/04/2016 14:17

Your lungs will shrivel and go black. You will die younger likely of cancer. You will stink. Your house will stink. Your taste will go to shit. You will have to go outside in the cold and rain if you are out and want to smoke. It's anti social. Nobody cool smokes anymore. It's ridiculously expensive. Um, running out now.

I'm definitely one of those ex smokers Grin.

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 20/04/2016 14:18

Do you want a harsh answer?

Well, in short it'll probably kill you.

I cry nearly every day thinking about how my mum died, at the age of just 61 from lung cancer.

I can't get the image of her just before she died out of my head. With her skeletal frame and patchy hair coughing up shit looking at me desperate for me to help her.

Don't do that to your family, please.

Pollyputhtekettleon · 20/04/2016 14:19

Because it's so so skanky. And it's actually dirty. Dirty and smelly and antisocial. It's the weirdest thing when you really think about it.

Sell them and go buy yourself a treat instead. Something that doesn't make you skanky and smelly.

FlyRussianUnicorn · 20/04/2016 14:21

There sat in the boot of the car. I cant bin them. I dont know why- its like burning £50. I wouldnt do it.

I am a strong independent woman. I do not need to smoke. Brownie points for all if you can work out where that quote is from 😉

My mum who had smoked since aged 13 gave up aged 79. If she can do it (chainsmoker after Dad died) you can do it. She's 86 and battling lung cancer now. It is shit. She got to see my daughter grow up which wouldn't have happened if she hadn’t stopped when she did.

Quote from Friends?!

Sell them and buy yourself a lovely new perfume that won't be overridden by smoke.

daisywhoopsie · 20/04/2016 14:24

X-post, you beat me to it there Wizard! Great minds Smile

Pandora2016 · 20/04/2016 14:24

Go an buy yourself some nice, new e-liquid. There's bound to be a decent shop near you somewhere.

Get somebody else to bin them?

You're doing well!

eaglesreach · 20/04/2016 14:29

Just keep reading this, it helped me an awful lot. Well done for doing a week, you're doing fantastic.

Herewegoagainfolks · 20/04/2016 14:32

People will like you better if you don't smell and aren't leaving the restaurant/pub every 15 mins for a fag.

Also, think of all the lovely, lovely money you will be saving.

And how much prettier your lungs will be.

spankhurst · 20/04/2016 14:32

Because people you love will suffer terribly when you become ill from smoking.

Agree with Daisy, flog the fags and buy a gorgeous perfume instead so you smell like an angel instead of an ashtray.

ArcheryAnnie · 20/04/2016 14:32

My mum had years of awful pain at the end of her life, and was eventually unable to walk at all, because a lifetime of smoking had damaged her blood vessels. At the end, even moving her legs in the hospital bed caused her pain. She had gangrene in her toes, and some of them had gone black. The conversation with the doctor about whether they should be amputated finished with the news that "they'll probably drop off by themselves". You can imagine how I felt every time I changed her socks or took off her slippers, not knowing whether her toes would still be on her feet or left in her socks.

I gather this is not uncommon in smokers. You don't want that, I promise you.

(My dad, as avid a smoker as my mum, had died of lung cancer some years before, but he was an arse so I wasn't there to see it.)

ArcheryAnnie · 20/04/2016 14:33

(And congratulations on quitting. I am under no illusions about how difficult it is, and so you have done excellently in getting a week under your belt!)

MrsTerryPratchett · 20/04/2016 14:38

I'll tell you what helped me. I imagined George Clooney [insert yummy person of choice] turning up at my door and saying, "I'm taking you to Bora Bora". My first thought would have been, "where are my fags and lighter". Seriously, it would have been. I didn't want anything having that sort of power over me. So I gave up.

Then that bastard married someone else and probably takes her to Bora Bora. Actually, she doesn't smoke so perhaps we are all taking turns...

FlyingElbows · 20/04/2016 14:38

"it's like burning £50" that's what you've been doing all along. You've been burning money so you can rot yourself from the inside out. Doesn't make sense does it? I'm about 17 years "clean" now. You can do it. Just keep going. And get rid of those fags, you don't need them. Wink

TotalConfucius · 20/04/2016 14:41

Put the fags on a Facebook group, they'll go.

Because you don't stink any more.
And your house don't stink any more.
And give it another few days and you'll really be able to tell who stinks and who don't.

And I'm buying a lot of holiday this year since I knocked off my £380 a month habit.

And I really like that look in my dc's faces - y'know that 'proud of the old gel' look.

And I can swim 30 lengths now so the belly's disappearing too.

And you don't stink any more. I know you think you didn't stink anyway....but you did.

SuckingEggs · 20/04/2016 14:43

Imagine how shit you'll feel if you cave in.

Imagine how good you'll feel if you don't.

Chuck them in a public bin.

Maidofrohan · 20/04/2016 14:43

You don't want COPD, it's awful to watch someone in the end stages of that... Or instertitial lung disease, or any of the smoking related illnesses. I've seen people whose legs have virtually rotted off due to their circulation being so ruined by it...so yep, you'd def don't want to continue smoking.

Also: you save money, and just feel so much better. Defo stay off the cigs, and well done for quitting :)
