To think this is bloody rude or am I just a boring cow?

Out for dinner today and a cereal offender asked me a question and and literally seconds in to my reply stops eye contact and starts listening to another conversation at the table! She has done it on so many occasions. Nobody else does it to me. Our relationship isn't such that I can pull her on it each time so occasionally I have said sorry am I going on a bit... She just looks confused on each occasion as if we had never had the previous conversation. I think it's so rude. 😡

I can understand if someone has sensory issues as an earlier poster said but if not I just can't understand how so many people appear to do it and don't realise how rude it is. The schoolgate is where I notice it most - people not even hiding the fact that someone 'better' has come along! I just watch and take it all in now!

Yep! In fact the person in my scenario is at the school gate! I don't even bother to go over or stop now, I go past to some people who actually aren't rude. They do exist at the school gate, you just need to find them Wink.

Sorry I have just re-read and seen your comment about the school gate as well. Different rules of social etiquette apply there! I think it's hilarious how some of these parents behave and it is usually mums! So rude. Then the next day they want to chat like you are one long friends again!
