I have just been reminded of how much 'me' some of that dark 80s Goth stuff is, and my friends are being boring. AIBU to get wine (not blue nun or Liebfraumilch sadly) and listen to only Cure, Mission, Nephilim, and Mary Chain all night???

This Mortal Coil- Song to The Siren

Onykahonie · 16/04/2016 00:21

It might be a first, but goths are trending!

Lanark2 · 16/04/2016 00:21

Oh man, my heart just hurt a little bit. I love love love that song..I put it on when a friend of mine broke his leg(was whisked away in an ambulance ) on a drunken night out and at three in the morning I thought he might die and I put that on a loop...and cried..

I was always partial to a bit of Jane's Addiction, Three Days is lovely

SinisterBumFacedCat · 16/04/2016 00:22

I loved crimping. And dying my hair various shades of lilac. We were years ahead of the mermaid hair/pastel goths.

Lightning my patchouli joss stick...

SignoraStronza · 16/04/2016 00:22

Ooh, the Mission! Am going to Damnation with DH in November, so maybe he'll concede to that.

Lanark2 · 16/04/2016 00:22

Crowds then song to the siren..(and heart-holding fear!!)

Grin cockacidal. I never had a crimper. Might buy one now. Seeing as the youngsters are dying their hair grey I can start a new trend for the oldies.

CockacidalManiac · 16/04/2016 00:24

Oooh, This Mortal Coil. Lovely.

darksideofthemooncup · 16/04/2016 00:25

I have specified that I want Song to the Siren played at my funeral !

Onykahonie · 16/04/2016 00:25

Ooh, I can smell the patchouli.
Never take me alive, Spear of Destiny now playing.

Lanark2 · 16/04/2016 00:25

listening to Another Day by TMC now, darkside

Feenie · 16/04/2016 00:27

Nah, Onkya, I was too coiffed for all that malarkey! I actually think I had more confidence then.it's harder getting the look I crave with a mum tum. I do still rock thigh length heels on occasion though. Grin]

Lanark2 · 16/04/2016 00:27

My funeral has song to the siren too, and also lay me low by Nick cave. I want black horses and wind and rain.

shins · 16/04/2016 00:27

A crimper? Luxury! We had to plait our hair the night before!

Anyone know where I can get some Leichner panstick?

darksideofthemooncup · 16/04/2016 00:28

I was in a band back then and so wanted to be Elizabeth Fraser

CockacidalManiac · 16/04/2016 00:28

Cockacid Another Day has given me goosebumps, I forgot how beautiful it is

CockacidalManiac · 16/04/2016 00:34

I've had to go back to Marian by the Sisters to cheer myself up.

Lanark2 · 16/04/2016 00:34

Oh...(sad) I have just realised my parents are unlikely to be at my funeral and might never know the depths of my emotion as they have resisted my music taste ...Sad
