This is not a stealth boast and is meant to be fairly light hearted, before I'm shot down in flames. On holiday at the mo. Thought I'd book myself a massage. Had massage this morning - was quite good and being massaged by hot Spanish man made it all the better. However once I opened my eyes after the hour, I saw he'd been massaging me wearing blue disposable gloves(!) I thought it sounded a bit strange at times. I'm no supermodel but am size 10 fairly well presented lady. AIBU to be offended he massaged me in gloves??!

He may have cuts in his hands, which old be aggravated by oils.
Don't worry about i if you enjoyed it

BoopTheSnoot · 08/04/2016 12:33

I can see where you're coming from but it's probably just policy because of health and safety. I would have thought that the masseuses have to wear gloves with all clients to prevent infection or the spread of any skin conditions. I wouldn't take it personally. Enjoy your holiday.

FuckyNell · 08/04/2016 12:34

Thought this would be about yoni massage

wannadancethenightaway · 08/04/2016 12:37

fuckynell that old classic thread Grin

lanbro · 08/04/2016 12:40

At least he didn't use wooden spoons....!

squashtastic · 08/04/2016 12:46

I'm no supermodel but am size 10 fairly well presented lady.

Do only fatties get the blue gloves then? Confused

He probably had a rash or something on his hands or like pp said finds the oils upsetting.

NeedACleverNN · 08/04/2016 12:48

Maybe it was the policy of the resort?

MajesticSeaFlapFlap · 08/04/2016 12:48

Was it this guy?

WetLettuce123 · 08/04/2016 12:48

What's you being a size 10 got anything to do with it? Do you think it would be standard practice with bigger people as they may be deemed repulsive to touch?

scampimom · 08/04/2016 12:58

I'm a size 14-16. Only robots will agree to massage me as no human would touch me.

GraysAnalogy · 08/04/2016 13:06

I'd find it a bit odd but I suppose there was a valid health reason behind it.

You didn't feel it so I don't see the problem really.

And I don't think it matters what you look like

OliviaBenson · 08/04/2016 13:10

My hairdresser washes my hair wearing blue gloves. It's because she has eczema. Maybe your guy has a skin condition aggravated by the oils.

BolshierAryaStark · 08/04/2016 13:12

Yes OP, please do explain what you being a size 10 has to do with it?

Jw35 · 08/04/2016 13:12

He probably thought you were a fat ugly minger and didn't want to get infected by your disgusting blemished dirty skin Grin or it could just be procedure..

AgathaF · 08/04/2016 13:12

It's a good thing you're not a size 12, not so well presented person - he'd have had to wear gauntlets and a face mask Hmm.

Smeldra · 08/04/2016 13:17

It will be due to a skin condition.

CosyNook · 08/04/2016 13:53

BolshierAryaStark, WetLettuce123

I think the OP was trying to say she wasn't unpleasant to touch, but thats not why you posted is it Hmm

fastdaytears · 08/04/2016 13:59

That's not helping! Is being bigger than size 10 unpleasant to touch?

AnyFucker · 08/04/2016 14:00

Which bit were you stealth boasting about ? Confused Grin

AnyFucker · 08/04/2016 14:01

Oh sorry not stealth boasting

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 08/04/2016 14:05

Don't worry, he probably had an infectious skin complaint Smile

HopelesslydevotedtoGu · 08/04/2016 14:06

Couldn't you feel them during the massage?

I think it's most likely he has a skin problem. Or health and safety gone mad. I doubt he took one look at you and reached for a pair of gloves!

Grilledaubergines · 08/04/2016 14:08

Blue gloves?

That's nothing. The guy who did mine wore this because I'm considerably larger than you and he didn't want to catch ugly

VinceNoirLovesHowardMoon · 08/04/2016 14:10

What has your appearance got to do with anything?

RunswickBay · 08/04/2016 14:27

Bit unusual, but nothing to be offended by.
