strange massage

This is not a stealth boast and is meant to be fairly light hearted, before I'm shot down in flames. On holiday at the mo. Thought I'd book myself a massage. Had massage this morning - was quite good and being massaged by hot Spanish man made it all the better. However once I opened my eyes after the hour, I saw he'd been massaging me wearing blue disposable gloves(!) I thought it sounded a bit strange at times. I'm no supermodel but am size 10 fairly well presented lady. AIBU to be offended he massaged me in gloves??!

Seriously though OP, how come you only noticed at the end of the massage, surely his hands felt a bit, gloved? You must have the hide of a rhino not to feel a gloved hand despite being slim

Ha ha! These posts have had me crying! Both hands were gloved. The massage squeaked a bit. Never thought about the possibility of a latex allergy My post was not meant to offend in any way. Was not saying I am gods gift by any stretch but was merely pointing out that I am not covered in hives etc. My size was not really an issue and I apologise for any offence concerned. Must think before I type in future. Blame it on the sangria.

I used to be fat, when I was fat I used to get sores in my rolls and rashes all over I'm pretty sure someone wouldn't have wanted to rub all over my body

Before a lot of massages you complete a form to disclose any allergies .... did they do some check?

If they were blue gloves, they were almost certainly nitrile gloves, which as it happens are used where there are concerns about latex allergy (and are bloody useless, as they don't cling to your hands properly, so sensitivity for fine work goes right down...). Incidentally, as I am over 40 and obese, I can only get a massage by means of the masseur sitting on another continent, operating the remote computer controls for a robot. Blindfolded, of course.

I'm fine with latex gloves but react to nitrile gloves if I wear them. Not sure what I'd be like if someone wore them whilst massaging me. I'm over 40 but slim and fit so I'm not sure where that leaves me in terms of the PPE necessary to give me a massage. Perhaps the masseuse should blindfold himself and pretend I'm 30.

I have many massages both home and away....

Have never ever had a masseuse wear gloves though....

Maybe he thought you looked like a complete scaly minger....
