We've got 12 tubes of Aquafresh.

Sometimes, just for the illicit thrill, I go out and buy myself a different brand of tooth paste. Just because.

I bought a different handsoap the other day because I simply couldn't bear another bottle of Carex biggest blue one they do. We have maybe 16 in the cupboard and I get So Bored of the same product again and again and again. I bought a pink one!
Unfortunately DH assumed we had therefore run out......

HoneyDragon · 05/04/2016 17:46

I am happy that vocgoat and pepperabbit have the same kitchen roll problem to (yes ours is the giant sheet one too)

My boss, in her wisdom, got a good deal on bog roll for work. She bought 4500 rolls.

This was 9 months ago and I still have a great mountain of the stuff in my office. She didn't stop to consider where we'd store it.....

HoneyDragon · 05/04/2016 17:46

Dh keeps buying Apple dettol. I fucking hate it.

Do you want to trade some for 6 litres of Harpic?

georgiatraher · 05/04/2016 17:53

My DF can't resist a deal. When we lived together I once brought him all 12 jars of mustard that we already had and put them on his desk while he was doing the online shop. He saw the funny side as I cradled them in my arms across the living room and started to line them up infront of the key board with my eye brows raised.

This is so the kind of stockpiling of do.

I thought 32 rolls was bad enough though!

Costco costs £25-30 per year to join but you get 2 cards so can spread that cost between 2 families if you want to.

Makro is free but most things are more expensive than supermarkets, especially for things that are frequently on offer in the supermarket. But they are good for toilet roll, fresh fish and the odd thing when on special.

Both are supposed to be trade only/certain professions but it is fairly easy to go as a sole trader in any business.

I admit to having about 10 bottles each of shower gel, shampoo, hand wash and hand cream and have vowed not to buy any more until I have used all these up. We used to have the toilet roll mountain - they fit under the bed easily but have got out of the habit of going (to Costco/Makro not the toilet obviously).

ElviraCondomine · 05/04/2016 18:37

DH is another shower gel hoarder. I calculated last week that we have enough to last us for 4 years. Then Original Source was on offer again so he came home with another 4 bottles...

Same brand as my DH. Usually mint (for men dontcha know, us mere ladies are not allowed to touch it) or lemon. And then randomly he'll bring back half a dozen different ones. I don't mind the nice fruity ones but there is one liquorice bottle. Absolutely rank. But on special offer. So he has to buy it. Or the world will end.

PooFlower · 05/04/2016 18:37

I like to have a good supply of toilet roll and my Dad often asks if I'm planning on having the runs. Grin

Oh, OP - I think I am a bit in love with your husband. (And want some of that giant kitchen roll).

Gazelda · 05/04/2016 19:05

We've got a similar stash. Then DH went to Costco and got another two bulk buys.

I told him I just couldn't cope, so he's offloaded them onto his DM. She gets an avalanche every time she tries to get her dyson out.

HoneyDragon · 05/04/2016 19:12

I like the giant kitchen roll. I get a bit put out with the normal kind now Blush

My mum does this with Laundry Liquid. Though, on the plus side, it does come in handy if I run out.

derenstar · 05/04/2016 19:43

I would think this is pretty standard stuff for most Costco shopping homes. Just got back this afternoon, our under stairs cupboard is now stuffed with 16 packs of Kirkland loo roll and 20 packs velvet kitchen rolls as they were on offer. I also noticed that they now do 1kg jars of Nutella, my kids inhale the stuff. Love Costco!

Trade is for business owners. You'd get an individual if you are an individual.

I would love to have that much toilet roll. I only let myself buy nine at a time.

We have individual - I got it first and added DH as a spouse. I worked in one of the categories they'll recruit from but so does DH tbh (SAHM) but I think I'm still the primary member.

I used to pass a Costco on the way to work but now the nearest one is a bit of a journey. It does petrol though!

The furniture is lovely, although large in scale - we've had to hire a van to get it home.
