To wonder why people insist on posting about 'MN Royalty'?

If you do it, what do you mean? Why do you do it?

Does it ever cross your mind that long-standing, non-name-changing posters might be very hurt by your accusations?

If you're going to do it, have the courage of your convictions and name names.

I have only seen MN royalty be used to describe long time and we'll known posters. As in they are royalty because they are a MNer household name. Quite like it.

I love the favourite MNetter threads though purely to watch everyone get bent out of shape about it

Yes, allow users to hide up to 3 posters at any one time. The most hidden poster gets a "goady fucker of the month" badge.

I don't think people are that rude, maryz, I'm sure if they're helped by other posters they acknowledge and thank them. I've seen that many times.

MNHQ has said no to 'hide a poster', regardless of how many times it's suggested so if that was a little pop at me, feel free to ignore me from this point on, I really wouldn't mind or possibly even notice.

Probably MNHQ feel creating a Hide The Poster option goes against the all inclusive skip along holding hands nature of the site, but it is getting huge nowadays so a bit of Darwin-assisted natural wastage might be a way of tidying things up (hard hat donned)

I have been on mumsnet since 2009. I love it, it has taught me so much about well everything really. When I first joined mumsnet royalty were very much in force, and though some were witty and kind, some were decidedly not, and used their popularity to ridicule and mock. I am glad there is not that feeling about the site any more, I think mumsnet is a better place for not having so much of a royalty any more, it feels freer.

AFGate was a popular poster banned for a while. Moldies has been explained earlier on this thread by OP (I think) in some detail.

I don't know usual, in the op BIWI says to have the courage of your convictions to name people. I don't care that much now, but some posters did behave nastily, and yet people acted as though the sun shone out of their arses and I think it got to the point where they believed their own hype. I don't think they are still about as their posting style was quite distinctive, and I do recognise people who have name changed. I think mn has changed for the better. I miss some old posters but some really were quite awful IMHO.

Just start a thread about Mouldies, give it 20 minutes and they all return rabbiting about how marvellous it is still
