By the way, you can't name MN royalty because then you get told off because they are not there to defend themselves. I would say when people refer to 'royalty' now, they basically mean Any Fucker. Yes, she did get banned in the end, but I think she probably got a lot.of.reports before that, and it was only because HQ really couldn't let it go. And then obviously there was the outrage and campaigning to get her reinstated.

I guess that whether referring to one as royalty is regarded as an insult or not, probably depends on ones views of the british being somewhat anglocentric here monarchy...?

I think some people think that posters want to be thought of as MN royalty, but IME it's only ever used as an accusation towards someone else (wrt perceptions about others agreeing with them a lot, or getting special treatment by MNHQ etc)

Being busy is so coveted, many people love to boast about their 69 hour working week, three hours sleep and 28 committees plus volunteering and family.

Saying somebody is royalty on a site for chatting and advice is a big insult. In rl, very few people are busy busy busy bees and most of us to waste and hour or three per day on the internet doing not very much at all.
