Following on from aibu to take dd3 to a&e

OP posts:
TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 13/04/2016 09:56

Tell them to fuck off, they can't just let themselves in! Or no, get your DH to do it. You have enough on your plate.

Purplebluebird · 13/04/2016 10:08

Oh no :( I stopped following this thread because I thought you had it resolved when it was starting to move about a bit, just seen it's still going on. Your poor girl, and you and the family :( Her poor stomach looks so big. I just wanted to give some support, and really really hope a solution will be found soon =/

GreenMarkerPen · 13/04/2016 10:24

agree with others, the landlord/agency cannot come in if you don't want them in your home.
tell them to re-schedule to (suitable date)

good luck with the consultant today, hope you get a suitable referral and answers reg treatment.

AhHaaaaa · 13/04/2016 10:29

I'm sure that if you withdraw permission they are legally not allowed to let themselves in, unless it's for emergency repairs affecting the structure if the house or given permission by a court order. Get your DH to deal with this and tell them they are not doing today, you do not give permission due to hospital admission and you will deal with it as trespass.
On the other hand, if your house is ok and you trust them, getting the visit done when you are out the way and not there might be one thing off your list.
It sounds like your consultant is working very hard for you. Unfortunately you have to have exhausted all local services first (so Leicester) before something like GOSH, unless its a certain condition they have pathways for and they send straight there. Hope you get a plan today.

Colliefeatures · 13/04/2016 10:41

Have been following this thread and rooting for you & your little DD Flowers

The letting agent cannot let themselves in if you don't agree! Do not let them bully you. Get your DH to threaten to report them to ARLA.

Best wishes for today Flowers you are a wonderful mother!

FatimaLovesBread · 13/04/2016 10:43

When did they letting agent first give you notice? This morning? As that's not enough notice. Or had you arranged it as ok previously and then said no this morning?

GoodStuffAnnie · 13/04/2016 11:47

Don't be patient today.

Say to the consultant or the consultants secretary you need them to ring you back by X time. Make it one hour.

Ask them which consultant they are trying to ring at Leicester. I would be ringing his secretary every 5 minutes. If you can't get through to her, ring the children's ward at Leicester. Do not stop ringing people until you are in there. I can ring for you.

Forget about the letting agent. It's not important.

You are so strong. You are so confident.

littlemaemae · 13/04/2016 11:48

Radiology refused the X-ray as they weren't prepared to do it 3 times. Fair enough, they are being cautious.
Being re admitted for 5-7 days for NG klean prep then Leicester will see her after that

OP posts:
LaContessaDiPlump · 13/04/2016 11:52

I'm glad you're being readmitted. Can you be sent home with an NG tube though? I'm wary that it'll get to Friday (only 2 days away) and they'll try to send you home with a cheery wave (again) and then you'll have another battle to get back in.

In any case, Leicester are aware of her existence and are expecting her in the next week. That is great news!

GoodStuffAnnie · 13/04/2016 11:55

Good. Well done. You will feel better in hospital. I really recommend not leaving until this is sorted. That's what I would do. Just stand firm.

Have you asked them what the dangers are and risks are from her not pooing so long? It might be that there aren't any. Apart from the terrible pain and discomfort she is in (I'm not minimising). This might alay your worries.

Stop saying you are anxious. You are are a mum who is very concerned about her daughter. We would all be the same. You are doing fantastically.

GoodStuffAnnie · 13/04/2016 11:58

I would also keep saying, "what is your plan if this fails?"

They will say we'll cross that bridge when it comes. You say "no. I need us to plan what will happen next." Force them to get organised.

Floralnomad · 13/04/2016 12:00

I can see the radiologists POV , your dd hasn't had a poo yet so the blockage can't have gone that far can it . Totally agree with pp do not leave without a resolution or at least a cast iron plan of how to move forward - good luck .

fraggle84 · 13/04/2016 12:06

Can you push to be kept in until Leicester see her?

You might be in the situation again of being sent home until that appointment

GoodStuffAnnie · 13/04/2016 12:16

"What is the success rate of Klean prep in children"

"Have you ever seen Klean prep fail to empty a child"

"When should we expect it to start working"

"What is the average time it takes to start working?"

Newmanwannabe · 13/04/2016 12:42

How can radiology refuse a doctors order? That is crazy.

EmmaGellerGreen · 13/04/2016 12:53

Radiologists are doctors!

2016ismyyear · 13/04/2016 12:54

I've had radiology refuse to scan before. They need to consider risks versus benefits. There might be other imaging that might be more appropriate. However like a previous Poster said they'll know blockage won't have moved far. Unless they are at a point of manual extraction maybe best to save x-rays etc til surgery so they get up to date picture.

littlemaemae · 13/04/2016 12:57

I do agree with them and I am grateful they are being careful. Doctor said he actually agreed with them when I came back.
NG tube was never going to happen! They tried twice but she was fighting too much and very distressed ended up with a bleeding nose and broken blood vessels all over her face from screaming.
It's going to be done under GA later toduay, I believe.
She went crazy when they even put the numbing cream on her hands. She isn't going to co operate at all now.

I am also concerned that it will be 'kick them all out Friday' very soon.
We will not be leaving. It needs to be seen through

OP posts:
Footle · 13/04/2016 13:10

I will keep my distress to myself - you've got enough to deal with.

LaContessaDiPlump · 13/04/2016 13:10

I understand that the blockage won't have moved down, but surely there's a risk it may have expanded up? Littlemae has been eating after all, and liquids will surely make the blockage swell. I'd have thought that they'd want to sort out another sort of scan to check she's still ok.

Good to hear that the NG tube will go in under GA, although poor Littlemae for needing it at all.

We will not be leaving. It needs to be seen through

I suggest you get the first part of this statement printed onto a t-shirt or onto a fucking big card. Hold it up every time someone even suggests leaving! You sound very determined op. Good on you.

Fourarmsv2 · 13/04/2016 13:12

I think you need to resign yourself to the fact that for now she is going to be phobic to medical procedures (with good reason).

So perhaps think about what you'll say next time they propose doing something to her.

littlemaemae · 13/04/2016 13:21

She keeps falling immediately to sleep after every traumatic experience. Is that fainting or passing out?

If we had been kept in at the weekend and NG put in then, we would be 4/5 days ahead.
That made me laugh about the tshirt. Not a bad idea at all!

They don't seem to be understanding the more they put her through the less she will work with them.

I'm feeling quite angry.
I am alone today, dp is on his way back from Birmingham. I encouraged him to go, he will lose deals if she keeps cancelling appointments.

Dd6 and my mum will be coming after school

OP posts:
Footle · 13/04/2016 13:42

The general management of her is what a specialist hospital would do so much better. They sound utterly clueless.

Meggymoodle · 13/04/2016 13:45

Have been following from the beginning but just want to say you are doing amazingly. It is beyond hideous, the whole experience.

Re. falling asleep after trauma - I think it's a normal way of dealing with it for small people, but am not medically trained so don't take that as fact.

I am thinking of you and praying that all will be resolved very soon.

Ilovenannyplum · 13/04/2016 13:58

I read your first thread about this, I can't believe that this is still going on. Your poor little DD, I hope this gets sorted sooner rather than later for her.
Thanks to you all
