'We've deleted this thread because Maui'

Mumsnet Gold! Had me properly howling. Well played MNHQ, well played.

Wish I'd seen how the thread panned out though! Wink

OP posts:
RhiWrites · 31/03/2016 17:37

Aww, I missed it. Please tell me that the first post threw in a random mention of her honeymoon destination.

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 31/03/2016 17:57

So I saw two threads, how many were there in the end??

Gutted to have missed any, Maui was pure gold!

AGnu · 31/03/2016 18:08

We should keep a few pet trolls around for comedy value. HQ could stick MNPT on the end of their name & revoke their NC privileges so we all know what the deal is & can just get on with the silliness.

AuntJane · 31/03/2016 18:22

I used to work with a charming young lady (let's call her Jemima) who became engaged to someone with a triple barrelled name. When she asked "Do you think people will think I've become a Sloane?" My answer was "No, no-one will think you've become one".

Notimefortossers · 31/03/2016 18:36

I think there were 3 shipwrecked

toria6118 · 31/03/2016 18:44

Ooh, ive just now read that... She thinks they dont want to come because of her fiance? Hehe, no sweets, its you.

RaspberryOverload · 31/03/2016 18:50

Or the badger cam one where the DH was sanding his knob.

I do remember that one Grin it was better than many of today's efforts.

Penguinepenguins · 31/03/2016 18:56

Ha ha loreli I think it will be deserved in this case! Oh wait I can feel an AIBU: to get Tarquin to sign a pre-nup

OP lol your right she did say who knows if I will be with him in five years... Poor sod

BrienneofQarth · 31/03/2016 19:20

Oh, I'm really sad! She was fantastic value!

lorelei9here · 31/03/2016 19:50

Anyone else singing Five Years Time now? Very apt lyrics. ( love that song)

Pet trolls are quite a good idea. But if MN make the announcement tomorrow I will be sceptical...

lorelei9here · 31/03/2016 19:51

Btw she's not the only one
I went with my friend to a bridal place and a woman trying on dresses said to her mum "I think it's just right for a first wedding".

Penguinepenguins · 31/03/2016 20:15

For a first wedding!!! Hillarious

I wouldn't mind a "nice" pet troll once in a while it's very amusing - but some of the troll posts have just been awful... So only nice pets please if any future trolls are plotting :)

lorelei9here · 31/03/2016 20:24

I was tempted to say to my friend, in a loud voice, "are we looking for a first wedding dress or an only wedding dress?"

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 31/03/2016 20:24

What was the PippaPavalova thread because I remember reading one by that posters recently and can't rermember now what the hell it was about. But there must be a reason why I remember the name as I don't usually notice them.

curren · 31/03/2016 20:30

Maui woman reminds me of young South Kensington mother whose family own a chain of hotels who couldn't be arsed getting up in the morning to take her DC to school.

she was hilarious. She had a few threads to. I wonder if Maui, the lazy rich woman and pippa are all the same person?. They all remind me of eachother

Sunshowercap · 31/03/2016 22:17

Please tell me that the first post threw in a random mention of her honeymoon destination

Yup. She told us that when her friend responded in a doom-laden way to stories of her and her intended's altercations about "Which sofa?" we've all been there, haven't we? it's an important existential decision she reassured her bestie that "Of course the marriage will last, we're getting married in Maui"

AntiHop · 01/04/2016 00:34

maybebabybee yes I thought Hailey reminded me of the south Kensington mother too. Similar posting style.

sleeponeday · 01/04/2016 01:15

Wasn't there a thread once about a woman who caught her DH getting very erm, enthusiastic with the steel cutlery and pans?

Please let me not have invented that in my head.

sleeponeday · 01/04/2016 01:35

Yes! Found it in Classics.

Grilledaubergines · 01/04/2016 01:37

I asked her where she was getting married. She said she'd already told me. A Maui mouthed reply.

lorelei9here · 01/04/2016 09:46

Well played Grilled.

I don't see a similarity between South Ken mum and Hailey at all. Yes they are both rich but different posting styles.

SqueegyBeckinheim · 01/04/2016 09:56

I'm pretty sure Pippa and Hailey are one and the same. I think south Ken mum is a different person.

Iirc south Ken mum wasn't British, and her posting style and use of language seemed to reflect this. I thought she was on the level, I've met women like her who come from very wealthy Middle Eastern or far eastern families and are so used to having absolutely everything done for them by servants that they have absolutely no idea how to live a normal life.

lorelei9here · 01/04/2016 10:30

I never saw Pippa.

KatharinaRosalie · 01/04/2016 12:16

what, you missed that Pippa had a very successful party planning company and dreses up as Anna? (Not Elsa, that would be tacky)

MushroomMama · 01/04/2016 12:18

Someone posted on one those of Maui threads

No one gives a flying fuck about your wedding in Maui 😂
