Which threads get you hooked?

Which threads do you rush to hide because you feel the rage when you read them?? Grin

I love a good wedding thread and the 'joint finances' threads Grin

I have to hide the threads about SAHP housework roles and also the BF/FF threads. I also hide a lot of the MIL threads too actually Grin

Isn't Baby Names full of trolls? I find it all a bit odd, then someone says 'sibset' or 'what is XYZ's sister called' and I just think WTF. All the matchy names stuff. Confused

I agree AIBU is just used for everything. I blame Penis Beaker.

MrsJayy · 25/03/2016 14:52

Do it Lois

bibbitybobbityyhat · 25/03/2016 15:22

How can you troll baby names?

Sparklingbrook · 25/03/2016 15:25

It's a bit subtle. Register with MN, go to Baby Names and give a few random/boring opinions. Then go to AIBU and start trolly thread.
Think it gives the illusion of not being a brand new poster.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 25/03/2016 15:38

sparkling You seem to know a lot about it hmmm

Sparklingbrook · 25/03/2016 15:40

How very dare you Lois Shock Grin

Grannyspantry · 25/03/2016 15:41

Sparkling does indeed.

Sparklingbrook · 25/03/2016 15:46

Bullies!

FarrowandBallAche · 25/03/2016 16:04

Sparkling you're so right about trolling in the baby name board.

Those posters that have 5 girls and are having a boy that go on to give their DDs names are very fishy. They usually have a number in their username too.

OhForTheLoveOfGin · 25/03/2016 17:49

Love:

Baby name threads, the more bonkers and judgemental the better

Crazy work colleague/family member/wedding unreasonableness

Hate:

School gate, BF/FF, and anything juicy where the OP fails to update

OhForTheLoveOfGin · 25/03/2016 17:51

LOVE flouncers corner Grin

MrsJayy · 25/03/2016 18:39

Do folk really flounce proper leaving speeches and stuff

molyholy · 25/03/2016 18:51

Love a good cat poo thread.
Love a totally aibu OP where all the posters tell the OP they are being unreasonable, but they just wont accept it.
enjoy the funny aibu's
love reading a rich person aibu thread, jast to see 'ow the avva rarf live.

Sparklingbrook · 25/03/2016 18:59

Cat poo threads always bring out the weirdos. Sad

Savagebeauty · 25/03/2016 19:03

Flouncers corner is full of attention seeking nobodies Smile

I like the book ones, I've read some great books thanks to other posters.
Also like the colleague ones, what you find irritating, etc, they can be funny.
I like nostalgia ones, eg 90s music.

I dislike the dieting ones, I can't be doing with all the protein/carbohydrate pseudo science.
Feminism and politics put me off too. There are some interesting topics but it always seems to end up with people patronising each other.

oldlaundbooth · 25/03/2016 20:02

I love any Costa Coffee /Nero threads about people sitting before buying.

What did you eat today threads? Love those.

Any weight loss thread.

Any spooky stories, unbelievable ones. Also the recent what happened at my school thread. Also like hearing about people's jobs, family history etc. Fascinating.

Any DH being a dick thread, like those.

MIL/SIL threads. Like.

Also, I've slept with my boss /friend etc, like those.

BF/FF threads I avoid. School gate too. And Facebook ones, ugh. Pointless.

Also anything with no paragraphs.

Bridezilla I avoid too.

oldlaundbooth · 25/03/2016 20:02

Dick thread, ha, head!

PurpleDaisies · 25/03/2016 20:16

I like in no particular order...
Almost anything in small pets and arts and crafts.
Questions about maths.
Questions about science (especially those where random nonsense gets debunked, eg oil pulling).
Funny threads-there have been some excellent ones lately. Off the top of my head I loved the ugly clarks sock boot thread, the one with the daughter's poo emoji Easter egg and boaty McBoatface

Pictures of people's pets, craft, cakes, living room etc...
Sharing recipes or meal planning threads
A good parking or wedding thread

I dislike...
Anti vaccination threads
Hit and runs (one op post on something controversial and disappearing act)
Long running threads I don't understand
Am I pregnant threads (do a bloody test!)

Writerwannabe83 · 25/03/2016 20:40

God I hate the "AIBU to ask you if you think I might be pregnant?" threads!!! What response so they expect?

I actually saw a response along the lines of "urinate on your computer screen and we'll tell you if we see a line" Grin

OP posts:
PurpleDaisies · 25/03/2016 20:44

Oh that response is fantastic writer. Grin

Sparklingbrook · 25/03/2016 20:44

I never really understand the 'can you see a line' ones. I am squinting at the screen seeing nowt while everyone is all 'congratulations!' Confused

Writerwannabe83 · 25/03/2016 20:46

Or the ones where there is SO obviously a line and the OP is still asking the question under the guise of them not being sure if they're imagining it.....

attention seeking much Grin

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 25/03/2016 20:57

I do get quite excited when i can actually see the line. Grin

No MN in 1999 so didn't get to wave my wee about on the internet.
