Which threads get you hooked?

Which threads do you rush to hide because you feel the rage when you read them?? Grin

I love a good wedding thread and the 'joint finances' threads Grin

I have to hide the threads about SAHP housework roles and also the BF/FF threads. I also hide a lot of the MIL threads too actually Grin

OP posts:

I can't be doing with threads in relationships where OPs complain that their DP treats them like crap, never lifts a finger to help with the kids etc etc and everyone advises them to leave but they find every excuse in the book not to and are back a few weeks later moaning again. I'm also pretty over P+C parking, buggies on buses and trans threads.

I do like threads about funny things pets have done, ways your children humiliate you and celebs who are horrible/lovely in real life.

tomatoIzzy · 25/03/2016 09:34

Queenbean I hate those as well, worse because it's four lines of cryptic waffle!

I like threads that make laugh. I avoid really serious threads.

Gobletofgin · 25/03/2016 09:45

I don't like conception, pregnancy, baby threads as I don't have small children, I also don't like Facebook, he said ,she said, typing out what was said to who, as they bore me stupid. I also don't read anything with bad grammar, no paragraphs, or anything that starts with dh and myself (or anything that involves myself and yourself) unless it is complaining about the use of myself and yourself Grin I also hate anything where people talk about food for children, and no one lets their children eat fruit because it's too sugary.

What I love is the lighthearted threads like cooking pancakes in the toastie maker, spoonyfuckers, pants under pyjamas and embarrassing moments and what's your best sandwich filling type post. I like a parking thread aswell.

Sallygoroundthemoon · 25/03/2016 10:06

I love a good parking thread. Plus the aibu, me or her type thing. I quite like the tidying/Kondo threads too but not the how often do you wash your sheets ones.
I dislike any ones about the minutiae of parenting, BF, night waking etc and especially the ones where parents are over invested in their children's friendship groups or little things that happen at school (I'm not talking about bullying or anything that serious).

Osolea · 25/03/2016 10:08

I like the threads about flights, despite reading loads of them that all go the same way. Either should I pay to prebook seats or recliners v non recliners. It's funny how antsy people get over it.

I don't like threads that turn out to be reverse, or the ones that are fake and based on a character from a TV soap.

Writerwannabe83 · 25/03/2016 10:44

I also love a good PFB related AIBU and ones containing precious pregnant women Grin

stinkysnowbear · 25/03/2016 10:49

I like interesting relationship ones and good stories.

I hate the trans/if I think I'm a woman I bloody well am threads and Tories are scum threads.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 25/03/2016 10:49

I like general lighthearted chatty threads. I try and give advice sometimes on more serious threads but other posters usually do a better job. I don't bother with mil threads they are ten a penny and make me dread being one!

NickiFury · 25/03/2016 11:18

Love a school unauthorised absence/fines thread. Though sometimes am just not up for the row that invariably ensues. Home ed threads too, though the misinformation on those threads is mind boggling at times.

takeonefortheteam · 25/03/2016 11:22

I love the Wimbledon Threads
I enjoy the property threads, especially when an op links to a house.
Long haul is good too.

Not bothered about pregnancy, immunisation battlefields or Weening.

NickiFury · 25/03/2016 11:28

Also the "reality" TV threads - TOWIE, MIC etc

emilybrontescorset · 25/03/2016 11:32

I like parking threads. Especially the ones where a neighbour with no garage or drive has 6 cars and a caravan and parks them all infront of others people's houses.

I like comedy threads too. The ones where a poster does a good deed which ends up biting them in the bum.

emilybrontescorset · 25/03/2016 11:33

Oh and a good bridezilla thread too.

Roussette · 25/03/2016 11:45

I love property threads in the sort of ones that are "OMG have a look at this house, can you believe how awful it is"?

However, I remember years back a thread when the owner came on. It wasn't pleasant. Grin

Katedotness1963 · 25/03/2016 11:52

I enjoy a pronunciation thread, or "how do you" about day to day life. I find it fascinating how differently people do things.
AIBU threads where the op clearly is but keeps coming back, incredulous, that no-one agrees with them and adds in another "fact" that makes them look even worse.
Love a lighthearted, funny, embarrassing thread. There are some corkers in MN classics.

Do not like... threads where the op will hint about some backstory that clearly has an impact on what is happening, but will not tell what it is so you can't tell what's really going on.
Any kind of parenting one-upmanship thread.
I find mil threads depressing. If you have a son it seems you can forget all about him once he has a partner/gets married because any attempt by him to spend time with you will show him to be an unreasonable bastard. The Mothers Day threads were horrible...

OneLove10 · 25/03/2016 11:52

Hate the threads where the op makes a very 'obvious' typo and never comes back to the thread, all the while hundreds of posters line up spitting on their keyboard, claiming this made their day, and nominating for classics.

Sparklingbrook · 25/03/2016 12:15

OneLove the recent dog microchipping/microwaving thread was very like that. I was Hmm felt sorry for the OP as there was a serious message.

Threads about BF or Feminism in Chat/AIBU where there's walls and walls of text and stats and links should be avoided.

I am really bored of shoes on/off in the house and cat poo in gardens, any goings on on buses or aeroplanes especially reclining seats. Oh and moaning about Halloween.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 25/03/2016 12:22

I'm mildly fascinated by the posters who hate Halloween, Santa, parties, shops, people etc. I picture them sitting in a concrete minimalist room with a voodoo doll of everyone they know. I mean that in an affectionate 'oh you guys' way.

Sparklingbrook · 25/03/2016 12:27

Halloween is just begging though Lois Wink Disgusting really.

CockacidalManiac · 25/03/2016 12:31

I avoid obvious bunfight threads; breastfeeding, the Trans ones that attract the TERFs, the ones with all the usual suspects with tunnel vision and obsessions.

CockacidalManiac · 25/03/2016 12:31

Love mad neighbour ones.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 25/03/2016 12:33

And Santa..well lets not open that can or worms eh? We might break the internetGrin

Sparklingbrook · 25/03/2016 12:35

I love a stray cat thread. When it either gets to move in or the owner is found. Or a missing cat thread and the cat turns up. The Litter Tray is a lovely safe topic. Smile

Sparklingbrook · 25/03/2016 12:36

Or Elf on the Shelf Lois.
