To think DPD make up driver names?

Today I have Fabian delivering to me and he's 15 mins away. I do so love the DPD tracker. I think Waitrose should have it on their delivery vans too.

Oh - Innocent! Almost as good as Jesus 😄

TornNotTorn · 24/03/2016 08:17

O2 livechat definately make up their own names. I had my upgrade sorted by 'Maverick' and I asked him

Paperchaserr · 24/03/2016 08:25

We usually get DPD Angelo. He's very nice. I don't think I've ever seen the same Ocado driver twice though.

Gabilan · 24/03/2016 08:45

My last DPD parcel was delivered by Atilla. He seemed very nice but I was a bit disappointed that he didn't gallop in on a pony, with hordes in his wake. It was just the usual van.

Anniegetyourgun · 24/03/2016 09:28

Delivery by galloping pony is only a good idea if you like your eggs pre-scrambled. And the hordes make such a mess of a gravel driveway, darling.

Groovee · 24/03/2016 09:45

Sebastian here

Withershins · 24/03/2016 10:18

Our DPD driver is Woodcock, I am assuming it's his surname Grin

SukeyTakeItOffAgain · 24/03/2016 10:22

Gavin's my DPD man. I always greet him with a chirpy "Hi Gavin!" He's always chiroy back. I like DPD.

SukeyTakeItOffAgain · 24/03/2016 10:23

Chirpy not chiroy. Where were you, autocorrect?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 24/03/2016 10:25

Always surprises me when people on MN think foreign names must be made up. .happens on baby names too. Err multi cultural society

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 24/03/2016 10:26

Innocent is a perfectly usual African name I think.

OneMagnumisneverenough · 24/03/2016 10:35

We have Claude - he looks more like a Craig :)

ceebie · 24/03/2016 10:51

Why do you think Fabian is made up? It's a real name.

VodkaJelly · 24/03/2016 11:00

I am waiting for DPD Phil to arrive, I hope he is nice

GeorgeTheThird · 24/03/2016 11:16

I know Innocent is popular in parts of Africa, just as Jesus is in Sourh America. They're still unusual where we live.

Watto1 · 24/03/2016 11:21

Last week I was texted with the time Sarah would be delivering my parcel. The 6ft 6 bearded gentleman who turned up with it didn't look like a Sarah but I didn't like to ask!

KurriKurri · 24/03/2016 11:34

Ha - my cousin is called Roman - he doesn't deliver blinds though Grin

DontDeadOpenInside · 24/03/2016 11:35

We have DPD Eddie and DPD Lee. I've got a DPD delivery on Saturday.. I bet it's Eddie.

I need to order from Ocado.. just for the amusement although I do think Morrisons do a similar jesus in the cabbage van thing but without the tracking.

Pipbin · 24/03/2016 12:12

I've taught a Fabian and a Woodcock.

I once had the same Ocado driver two deliveries in a row. He said it was the first time he had delivered to the same place twice.

CakeNinja · 24/03/2016 12:28

My ocado delivery is coming with Zoltan this afternoon! I can't wait to meet him, I really hope he lives up to my expectations now.

Gabilan · 24/03/2016 13:18

Attila looked and sounded quite Hungarian, so I don't think the name was made up. However, this did seem to be the best thread to share that particular anecdote.

Annie the good thing about the hordes is that, whatever they do to your driveway, they do a lovely job of fertilising the rose garden.

PickleSarnie · 24/03/2016 13:26

Our Interlink Express driver is called "Perfect".

That's a hell of an expectation to live up to!!

tibbawyrots · 24/03/2016 13:26

We always had DPD Dan at my old house. Now I've moved, it's DPD Marcus.

HelloCanYouHearMe · 24/03/2016 14:14

I have an interlink delivery coming on Tuesday - my money is on Gary.

Its always Gary

DontDeadOpenInside · 26/03/2016 12:07

It was DPD Gary. I was most surprised.
