Ghost in house

Okay so I've been feeling like there's something in my house lately, get the feeling I'm being watched and mentioned this to a friend who goes ghost hunting, who told me to try and communicate with it. I've got this week off work and home alone, so thought it was the best time to try as don't want to scare anyone.

I called out to it and a few moments later the delivery driver knocks on the door, pure coincidence or is this thing using real events to respond to me? Oh also I woke up this morning and tap was running?? I'm a light sleeper so would know if it was dh or dd in middle of the night. I feel quite uncomfortable sat here Blush am I being paranoid?

If they're opening cupboards (and cat flaps) then their actions are very much on the physical plane. We have better technology than ever before, cameras on every street corner, more advanced audio than ever and we're unable to capture on of these events using modern day technology?

I'm not saying that people who claim to have seen them are lying, just that there is probably some scientific explanation. For example, I swore blind I saw a ghost when I was very little. I remember it very clearly. I was also feeling ill and woke up (or did I?) during the night when it happened. I've since put it down to having a dream but feeling awake/ hallucinations from ill health.

This isn't really relevant to the OP however I do find it interesting that a lot of spooky encounters take place when the person is either in bed (usually having just woken up) or when they're tired. I think it's far more likely in those cases that they were dreaming or hallucinating because they were tired.

I had what could be described as a woo encounter a few weeks ago. I had just finished work and felt exhausted so I decided to have a bath to unwind.

So there I was lying in the bath, I had pulled the shower curtains around just like I always do, when I suddenly became conscious of the fact that the bathroom door was being opened.

I live alone so naturally I was up like a shot. As soon as I was sitting up I swore I then saw the door be fully opened and a silhouette of a person then walk in, walk right past the bath and over to my sink.

It was at this point that I opened the shower curtains however there was nobody there. After having a look round the bathroom and calling out to see if anybody was there, I decided I must have imagined it. I did notice that the door was open however and I could have sworn I had shut it before getting into the bath but perhaps I was mistaken.

If I believed in ghosts then I may well have put this down to a ghostly encounter. As it is however, I'm going to say I was most likely just tired and seeing things.

I've seen a shadow person like this, it walked across the room at me then vanished.
I too put it down to some sort of Hypnagogia.

Our kitchen cupboards keep opening by themselves. When we first moved in dh said it was a ghost. We'd close a cupboard and when we next looked, it would be open. Not the same cupboard all the time, but different cupboards. Only in the kitchen. A friend told me to stop closing a particularly recalcitrant cupboard, "he obviously wants the door open, Jux" He? The Ghost, she insisted.

Actually, it was because the cupboards were made of a tyoe of wood which never stops moving, so sometimes a door would fit properly and sometimes it wouldn't.

It never ceases to amaze me the number of otherwise normal and rational people around who believe in woo. My mum is one of the worst.
This calls for Tim.

Who is going to fund such a venture?

Well, currently believers believe any old shit so aren't likely to dig deep. And similarly, it'd be an odd mad sceptic who invested money to disprove something they don't believe in.

I have no problem acknowledging there are phenomena that can't be explained within our current framework of knowledge (after all, scientists haven't given up). However the chances that such phenomena will be proved to be the manifestation of the spirits of dead people are zero.

There is no proof that ghosts exist and so logically I don't believe in them but if there was such things as ghosts or a haunted house then the last house I lived in was haunted.

I saw a disembodied hand which my dog reacted to, a guest saw the shower curtain move. You would hear talking, foot steps and often see shadows in a certain room. At one point there was a worry that it was CO2 poisoning but the check showed nothing.

When people ask if I believe in ghosts I still say no, though something was happening in that house I just don't know what it was.

Was it a house previously owned by The Addams?

wannaBe that was such an interesting read! Mine's a new build too. Quite spooky, but very into that sort of stuff.

You see the problem is, OP, you so much want to believe that there are ghosts that you are willing to think that these tiny non-events are proof of some supernatural being in your house. So much so that no amount of logical explanations are going to be considered, as is evident in the way you are picking out the posters who have other 'evidence' of ghostly happenings and ignoring many other posters saying that maybe there are other reasons for these noises/delivery drivers.

Grin

I saw a ghost when I was a teenager. Except I really didn't. Sleep disorders have a lot to answer for.

I would totally get spooked in a creepy house mind. I'd probably enjoy the thrill. Not because I think there are ghosts, but just because....I have a vivid imagination.

OMG ghosts can control delivery drivers?! I can't believe none of my dead relations have stuck around to help with useful things like that. Do you think I could summon one of them? They could do all sorts round the house & amuse the dog whilst I'm at work.

I love that your ghost is squeezing in (or out) through the catflap OP Grin

I understand that AliciaMayEmory - but of course I'm going to feel more inclined to those that aren't painting me out to be ridiculous and actually believe in this sort of stuff, which I do, so the "ghosts don't exist" posters aren't helping!

Lol CrystalMcPistol Grin yes the little bugger! Frightened life out of me.

Actually, ghosts are questionable but Vampires did and still do exist.
There are lots of real life vampires living all around us.

Seriously ghosts do exist. Shocked at those who say they dont. I have seen one so know they do but op they can not hurt you. There is nothing to fear from them.
