Rude woman or just me?

Hi all! Need your opinions.

So I just got back from tonight's yoga class and feel a little odd with the encounter that I just had. Well I got chatting to another woman who had just joined, as she was talking I glanced out the window for a moment and noticed the moon and I out of the blue mentioned how pretty it looked & how it affects my behaviour - no I'm not crazy haha, please mention if this happens to you too!

Anyway she proceeded to snicker at what I had just said and found a way to excuse herself as if I had just said the world's craziest thing or killed her cat or something?? Am I wrong for thinking she was really rude to laugh and excuse herself? I don't know if I want to go back to my class anymore which is a real shame because I really enjoyed going until this woman joined.

If she cant see the beauty in the moon shes missing out not you.

The woman didn't laugh because she thought the moon was beautiful. She quite possibly loves the moon.

It was the additional comment that started the (probably nervous) laughter.

...and now the sock puppet has turned up.

'Bloody moon' sounds like an all-female punk band.

OP, if Person A says something that Person B regards as irrational, then Person B is likely to worry about what other irrational stuff Person A might believe.

Person A says: "My horoscope says travel is lucky so I've booked a ticket to Skegness for the weekend."

Person B hears: "I have no awareness of what other people are likely to think, I probably also believe that eating organic veg can cure cancer, and I will definitely turn into a stalker if this friendship goes a way I don't like. Tonight, I will watch you while you sleep."

Am I wrong for thinking she was really rude to laugh and excuse herself? The laughing wasn't polite, although as pp have said, she could well have thought you were joking. She had every right to excuse herself though, strangers don't owe you conversation.

Tash maybe you should exchange numbers with the op, you can talk about the moons effects as much as you want and no laughing!

MymbleMother · 12/03/2016 10:52

"Tonight, I will watch you while you sleep."
