Insurance job on my home
It's been dreadfully mismanaged - if my Dh can get riled up over it then they must be incompetent as he gets ruffled for no man usually !

We have a chap working here and I think he is vile. He's likely to be here for at least another week and I dread him beng here. He's very rude/sexist- he mocks my work (he watches me do it at the kitchen table) When I have asked any questions or he has asked of me- he is rude, dismissive and takes the piss. If my Dh asks him anything (Dh incidentally doesn't know the difference between a self tapping screw and his elbow)

I've had enough today. He's taken the piss out of my home and told me his home is full of fabulous quality wood/leather/marble/insert matching carpets and curtains item here.

No my home isn't full of Porcelenosa stuff and the like and I don't have matching, spotless stuff- FFS I'm wondering if the insurance company would agree to replacing him (he's an approves supplier)

If the insurance company hired him, phone and complain about his snotty attitude. You dont feel comfortable with him in your home due to his conduct. So tell them.

No way am I leaving him in my home. He picks up and inspects stuff whilst I'm here and has pointed to washing drying on the rads. (Sports bras)He gives me the creeps! He'd be upstairs inspecting stuff if left!

He is behaving inappropriately and clearly lacks awareness of boundaries, which is why your spidey senses are tingling. I think you need to ring the company and tell them. Comments on your bras are really not on and not within the bounds of normal tradesman chat.

With that kind of attitude to your face I'd be really concerned about the quality of work he was doing. Is it specialised? Could you tell if he was doing a poor job? If you couldn't tell, report him to insurance now and insist on someone new, regardless of the wait. Otherwise, maybe record him and then report after the fact if the abuse is preferable to the hassle of getting someone new.

Call the insurance company, you might have a bit of a wait but will be worth it. This guy clearly needs a talking to by his employer re boundaries and behaviour..... Do not envy you dealing with this. Good luck.

I would contact the insurance company immediately and give several examples of his inappropriate behaviour and say that you don't want him back.

Report him for his rude, sexist, mocking comments; you You don't have to put up with that, and his company probably don't know. Just remind him that no-one is indispensable.
I reported the man who came to install my dishwasher for his rudeness about the previous one; yes it was a rustbucket, falling to pieces, (albeit still working), that was why I replaced it. I didn't need his opinion

I had this problem with a workman in my home who was racist.

I wanted to get rid of him when it became obvious, but he was halfway through tiling my bathroom so I bottled it.

However, I did advise my Asian NDNs, who asked for his details as they neede someone to refit their bathroom, to look elsewhere as his work was of a poor standard (it wasn't).
