I'm looking for somewhere in London where I can book a proper massage as a birthday present for my 6yo daughter.

Somewhere "naice".

Can anyone suggest anywhere?

Sorry.

Well thank you sleeponeday.Grin

It's all booked, and I no longer feel like a weirdo pervert mother for thinking it was a good idea.

After the first few messages I thought "shit, I've really got this dreadfully wrong! I'm a TERRIBLE mother who is sexualising her daughter without even realising it!"

[Hair shirt and self-flagellation to follow - although that's probably considered pervy too.]

But since then the consensus generally seems to have evolved that massages are lovely and that there's no reason why a six year old shouldn't find them lovely too.

And that they're not really the same as pole dancing classes or vajazzles.

Which is a relief on a number of fronts.

Interesting thread. I'm a massage therapist with a 7 year old who also loves a back rub. I work for a charity in London where we treat anyone with chronic health issues or disability and their families. We treat children and it can be a really important part of their treatment plan- but obviously have strict safeguarding policies in place with parents/carers present. I think its a great suggestion to learn how to treat your kids if they love a massage or reflexology - often they like the lighter type strokes and this can benefit with getting to sleep, anxiety and bonding at any age. Nothing wrong with getting this as a treat for your daughter as long as the therapist is specially trained / insured and you are present.
