To think Madonna is being slightly out of order?

Probably going to get a flaming, but reading a news report this morning about the custody battle about Rocco, she doesn't seem to take her son's feelings into account at all. He is happy in school with his father, whereas she is on tour in various places around the world. The judge also condemned both Guy and Madonna for playing this out in public, when it could be resolved in private.

Isn't the likelihood of having ten sons the same as the likelihood of having 10 daughters and of having 5 of each?!

Re: Likelihoods of gender.
I've got 4 DCs and they're all girls. When i was expecting DD2 i said (just chatting) to a midwife ''so my chances of having a boy are greater now aren't they, having already had a DD''.

She went to really great long pains to explain that each time you have a baby it's a fresh roll of the dice. What you've had before doesn't matter. It's not like picking tickets out of a finite no. in a hat. I've never forgotten it.

But I still don't really get it Grin

squoosh · 03/03/2016 11:03

I met a girl once who had 13 brothers. She was the only daughter in the family.

Imagine having thirteen brothers. You'd most likely die in a toxic Lynx cloud before you'd reached your 16th birthday.

Cocolepew · 03/03/2016 11:04

Its a bit bizarre that she's moaning about Guy being too lenient. She has Rocco out of school to tour and posted this picture when he was younger.

Come on Soup we are all waiting!

lljkk · 03/03/2016 11:07

Did Madonna have a wild teenage hood? It's hard to imagine she was a good Catholic girl all the way to 18yo.

iPost · 03/03/2016 11:07

What's to say Madonna and Rocco don't have the same stuff going on.

Nothing.

But by the same token, given that all we have is potentially 19th hand, and possibly not always 100% truthful, snippets in the media...we don't know if he'd be better off with something more similar to what eventually turned out to have been the best stratagy with my sister.

Leaving us firmly in "who knows ?" land.

Madonna might be justifiably having a "blood run cold" time of it, at the thought that her ex will end up taking her son out of education and shaping him in an entirely unhelpful, future harming fashion. Or the ex might be on the money, and be taking extremely accurate advice not to push this particular kid back into education cos it will all go horribly bent.

Or something else, between those two wholly oppositional poles.

Hopefully the courts will have enough unbiased info in their hands to choose a route that gives the kid the best possible chance of coming out of this situation as unscathed as he can. With any luck, it will be a route that leaves both of his parents feeling emotionally scoured as possible too. Cos, it is to the child's advantage if parents come out of it in a good position to heal fast and get on with jointly doing what their son needs them to do.

EponasWildDaughter · 03/03/2016 11:08

Somebody message her and ask.

EponasWildDaughter · 03/03/2016 11:09

soup, not Madonna.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 03/03/2016 11:09

Does Madonna honestly think this is the way to mend fences with Rocco? What kind of atmosphere is it for her younger children?

MirandaWest · 03/03/2016 11:14

I am pretty sure that ten was a typo for teen in soups post.

I think that there can be altered probabilities of the sex of children you have - some women are more likely to have more boys or more girls with their body being more receptive to male or female sperm. So it isn't necessarily a 50:50 chance each time. I would have to look into that in more detail though

MistressDeeCee · 03/03/2016 11:15

How can we know the truth, based on what the media says?! I don't like the way Madonna is portrayed as a shit woman and mother, but Guy is portrayed as almost a living saint. Yeah..as if. Id like to bet both he and Madonna have huge egos. Yes their son can choose where he lives but it may be that he likes life with his dad better..so what..that doesn't make Madonna a bad mother. She may be upset, hurt, sad and rare is the person who acts oh so reasonably when they are feeling that way. Then again, who knows? But women get so much flak its unreal

squoosh · 03/03/2016 11:17

When has Guy Ritchie ever been portrayed as a saint?

He's generally portrayed as a posh boy who poses as a cockernee lad and makes pretty rubbish films.

CauliflowerBalti · 03/03/2016 11:19

PaulAnkaTheDog - the mobile phone thing is widely documented as the reason he left the tour in the first place and neither camp is disputing it. He has tutors when he's on tour - so he is being educated.

I don't much care about Madonna or Guy Ritchie or their son. I might change my view on this. Vile custody battles happen all the time. This one is no different other than it's in the news. I'm filing it under shit happens.

MoonriseKingdom · 03/03/2016 11:26

We assume we are playing with a 50/50 coin when it comes to sex but this may not always be the case.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_sex_ratio

This article shows a few reasons why it's not always that simple. Skewed ratios of babies born have certainly been observed on a number of occasions post war.

Mouseinahole · 03/03/2016 11:32

I read that he left because Madonna humiliated him by putting his hair in bunches and posting pics on social media.

BillSykesDog · 03/03/2016 11:33

I think we know quite a bit of the truth in this case

A) because the family courts are open in the U.S. and the press are actually reporting on the case as it happens rather than just speculating

B) Madonna is personally commenting on social media

MistressDeeCee · 03/03/2016 11:33

squoosh he is portrayed as a very good parent in comparison with Madonna. This thread isn't about his films.

This is a custody case like any other Ive not seen that Rocco has said I don't like my mum nor do I like her lifestyle. He has a preference as to who he lives with. I opened this thread thinking why has an old thread been revived then realised its yet another thread about Madonna, Rocco wanting to live with his dad, then loads of speculation on the kind of woman and mother Madonna is when we very likely don't know the half of it.

What is it this week with so many woman-bashing/judging threads on FB anyway?

& there have already been loads of threads on the Madonna/Rocco situation

Mouseinahole · 03/03/2016 11:34

Here it is.

To think Madonna is being slightly out of order?
Funinthesun15 · 03/03/2016 11:37

we very likely don't know the half of it.

You can say that about any relationship or custody 'battle' either on here or on the media etc.

You only see 'one side' of it.

squoosh · 03/03/2016 11:37

there have already been loads of threads on the Madonna/Rocco situation

So?

There have also been lots of threads on Kanye West too. Celebrities get talked about. That's the nature of the fame game!

jay55 · 03/03/2016 11:47

Pops star world tours must be exhausting and not much fun for a teen after the thrill of another hotel room wears off. Changing time zones all the time. Not being able to chat to your mates or do any normal teen activities. Being around adults all the time.

I'd vote for the home in one place too.

MistressDeeCee · 03/03/2016 11:47

Really squoosh? Not as many as the thread bashing celebrity women - Im not "so?" about that kind of thing. This is a mainly female site and I call "Bullshit". There is over-investment in celeb-female bashing and the justification of it. Women are judged far more and far more harshly than men are yes thats the way of the world doesn't mean it shouldn't be mentioned, seeing loads of women slagging off another woman offline - I wouldn't find that a good thing. No different online

squoosh · 03/03/2016 11:52

Is that's the way you see it, well then that's the way you see it.

I don't share your view.

Cocolepew · 03/03/2016 11:53

No one is bashing Madonna because she is a woman.
More so because she's coming across as a bit of a tit.
