someone please reassure me that he is unlikely to be the Republican nominee, let alone become president.

Cannot believe that anyone would take anything he says seriously or agree with any of his beyond offensive vile opinions. Like having Nick Griffin en route to becoming PM Sad.

Dunno lweji I think Rubio's chances are on the decline (proving me completely wrong btw as I predicted he'd get it two weeks ago Grin).

Rubio would have some appeal for general election voters, if he could only swing the nomination, but can you imagine independents and floating voters voting for Cruz in any numbers? He's not only a religious nutter, he's a Canadian religious nutter.

Plus, I'd put money on Trump running as an independent if he doesn't get the nomination.

The Republicans and right wing pressie America have had an intense hatred of the Clintons since Bill stopped Papa Bush getting his second term. Clinton presidency take 2 (a woman!!!) is their worst nightmare. There seems to be a huge amount of sexism aimed at Hilary. lots of jibes about her being a grandma etc. I really hope she succeeds. I'm under no illusions that she is the perfect candidate and as Obama has found it seems to be very difficult to make radical changes - even the tiniest movement on gun control seems near impossible.

President Trump is a terrifying prospect. Hopefully the country will rally around Hilary to keep him out.

'Maybe a Hebridean island is not the best choice. My Scottish ancestors came from one of them, but not the one where there is the possibility that I might share DNA with Trump.'

I'll need to assess the fluffiness of your hair before declaring you free of Trump DNA.

Grin at Mitzy

I just googled pictures of Mom and Dad Trump. I think Donald's hair came from the non-Scottish side of the family.

MitzyLeFrouf · 06/03/2016 00:52

Hmmmm, maybe so but consider your potentially Trump associated DNA to be on a 'shoogly peg' (as they say in Scotland) until further notice.

Just realised that his granddad was a pimp. Nice.

SenecaFalls · 06/03/2016 01:06

And just for the record, that was not the Scottish grandfather.

It's caucus weekend where I live and the turnout is incredible. 4-5 times as many people are turning out to vote as did last time round.

This year apparently people really care about politics. Is it a result of Trump? Sanders? Both, I think.
