Did anybody else see this? I'm horrified and a bit disturbed tbh.

The reporter was talking to an ex footballer about the case and said 'Do you think it's hard for people to understand how hard it is to deal with the temptations put in the way of footballers'.... 😟
The ex footballer responded in agreement with the reporter, saying how oh yes it's very hard for them, etc....

So we can assume from this that these men see children as 'temptations put in their way'?

i feel sick 😞

I have no idea who she could sue AyeAmorok. That's because I'm not a lawyer. Are you?

I wasn't actually asking you whether you thought she could.

And agree WWA, that would probably be the easiest part of it for her.

I genuinely struggle to see how 'choose a lawyer, submit a claim using existing evidence and statements, lawyer obtains a settlement' is in any way more involved than 'report abuse to parents, then to police, make statements & provide other evidence, testify in high profile sexual abuse trial, including nasty cross examination and public vilification'

It would be highly unlikely to go to court, not just because of the conviction, but also because AJ wouldn't want to risk a judge saying in their judgement that on the balance on probabilities the 4th charge was also true.

The debate is irrelevant though. It is her choice, and I would absolutely understand why she might want to put the whole thing behind her. She's done a fantastic job testifying to enable this conviction, and I wouldn't judge her whatever she did. She has a right to rebuild her life in the way she chooses, whether that involves compensation or not.

I agree

Just heard back from Ofcom:

"Thank you for contacting Ofcom about a video clip on the Sky News website.

Ofcom’s rules regarding video on demand services apply only to certain types of video content accessible online. For example, the content has to resemble a traditional television programme service. Short, isolated video clips do not fall within scope of these rules.

However, I understand that the content you refer to was broadcast on Sky News’ television channel. As an Ofcom licensed service, this channel’s content is subject to rules in our Broadcasting Code. I can confirm that we have received a small number of complaints about the broadcast of this material and that they are currently under assessment."

So there's still time to make a complaint.
