mumeeee · 29/02/2016 17:32

YABU. Gravy on baked beans is horrible and so is having them in a casserole

Yesvember · 29/02/2016 17:35

I sometimes put baked beans into a shepherd's pie. That is the only time I think I'd gravy my baked beans.

WitchyPoos · 29/02/2016 17:39

As a northerner, I have gravy on allot of things, something with chips beans and gravy is frequent easy tea here. Also nice with mushy peas, can't beat pudding chips peas and gravy from the chippy. So no not unreasonable at all

acasualobserver · 29/02/2016 17:40

Bletch. OP, you are horrid.

x2boys · 29/02/2016 17:43

mmm WitchyPoos I,m also a northerner sounds lovely!

Ughnotagain · 29/02/2016 17:43

Baked beans?! Of course YABU.

You need to learn the joys of a carb divider to separate (for example) pie and beans. Gravy goes on pie, desired carb acts as a flood defence, beans stay intact Grin

Ughnotagain · 29/02/2016 17:44

Kids at my school used to have pizza, chips and gravy. Chips and gravy I'm totally onboard with but could never deal with it on pizza...

Elledouble · 29/02/2016 17:47

You've gone wrong. Gravy on beans indeed.

DeliciousIrony · 29/02/2016 18:00

Rice + baked beans + gravy is amazing.

WorthMoreThanThat · 29/02/2016 18:13

I love sausage chips beans and super thick gravy! I have just had sausage casserole...with beans in it. Pie beans and gravy is also another winner in this house. Have any of you tried it that are so against it....u may enjoy it Wink

yabu - and wrong very wrong

chips and gravy is the food of the gods why ruin it with beans?

are you on glue? Grin

Ughnotagain · 29/02/2016 18:22

DeliciousIrony my dad used to give us tinned meatballs in gravy with rice. Proper 90s gastronomy Wink

scribblegirl · 29/02/2016 18:23

No thanks - I don't think it's horrendous but not my thing!

Now Boursin mixed into hot baked beans... That's heaven in a bowl right there Grin

JizzyStradlin · 29/02/2016 18:23

My cousin does the gravy and fish thing. Unnecessary, even when northern.

ghostyslovesheep · 29/02/2016 18:24

Ugh my mum used to do left over chicken in Campbell's condensed mushroom soup (un condensed) with rice and said it was 'chicken supreme like posh people have' Grin

JizzyStradlin · 29/02/2016 18:28

I don't understand the cooking with tins of soup thing. Loads of recipes online seem to do this. I don't mind tinned soup now and then, there are days when cream of tomato with some bread and butter just hits the spot, but can't imagine it being nice in a stew! Or am I being prejudiced and it's actually delicious?

freshprincess · 29/02/2016 18:33

Gravy with baked beans? Why, woman?

This thread is even more disgusting than the poo troll.

x2boys · 29/02/2016 18:37

i think my mum put condensed mushroom soup in vol au vonts when she was doing a buffet for parties ghosty maybe it was an 80,s thing?

DisneyMillie · 29/02/2016 18:40

So so so wrong

storminabuttercup · 29/02/2016 18:52

Nope. Beans and gravy go just fine! i have been known to add Mayo too

WitchyPoos · 29/02/2016 18:55

X2boys my grandma still does the mushroom soup in volovonts thing. I like them the minger that I am

JuxtapositionRecords · 29/02/2016 19:02

That is a salt coma just waiting to happen. I'm thirsty just thinking about it.
