I have a 3YO DD, she has been an absolute nightmare handful today. It's been a long day from hell and now she's in bed in having a glass of wine on my second I feel absolutely fine and not drunk. I've just spoken to my mum on the phone who knew DD wasn't been well behaved today and mentioned I was having a glass of wine and according to her this is outrageous, what if DD is ill and I need to driver her to the hospital ect..

  1. I have no intention of getting drunk so I can't care for her and if she did need to go the hospital I could get a taxi and still be perfectly fit to care for her

That's an od post Penny. Who has half a glass of wine? And who's to say 3 is too many. Too many for what, for a start. Can you explain your thinking?

3 isn't too many if the OP still feels ok after. I'm going to go out on a whim and say she isn't a surgeon on call.

Depends on the person and the drink. 3 glasses of wine and I'm only just in chatty territory. 3 lagers or vodka & cokes and I'd be plastered.

When mine were small and my DH worked away, I'd get them to bed then sit down and have one glass of wine.

We lived in an out of the way place, so taxis were hard to get, so I needed to keep sober so I could drive if we needed to get somewhere fast.

That one glass of wine relaxed me enough to keep going for the weeks I was alone. I could do without it, but I really enjoyed it. Drink if you need it, or enjoy it, don't worry about your Mother.
