To load everything I possibly can into the dishwasher?

I'm knackered. My 7.5 month old hasn't slept properly in months till 2 weeks ago when he started sleeping in our bed. Great but I can't sleep properly with him in there. I usually wash pots, pans, chopping boards etc by hand and only put crockery and cutlery in the dishwasher. Today I had enough as feel like j spend half my day washing bloody dishes so I loaded the dishwasher with everything and put it on. I feel slightly wasteful and lazy doing this but it's given me loads of extra free time. Would it be reasonable to do this and put the dishwasher on every day or is it a waste of electricity?

I have been told the tray for my ikea high chair can go in too!

Yes you can. I have put the whole high chair in. I detached the legs and put them in the top rack. Then the seat and the tray went in the bottom. I even left the straps on, and they came out spotless too! When we had a Chicco high chair I used to wash the covers on that in the dishwasher too. They lie out flat on the shelves, and then leave them to drip-dry in the garden.

I always wash the fridge bits in the dishwasher, and no issue whatsoever with them cracking. The glass shelves come up gleaming.

Crystal vases look lovely after a trip throught he dishwasher on a gentle cycle.

OMFG I can wash the absolutely manky because I am a slattern washing machine dispensing drawer? I assume this goes on the top shelf...

I never knew about the washing machine drawer.I used to wash that by hand. Now they are going to come in today and see the fridge gleaming and the oven clean[ish] and they will think i have got a bang on the head.Grin

I wont hear the end of it.The bin is going in tomorrow.Wish me luck.

I can put the whole high chair in?! I am learning so much from this thread. I think the entire contents of my kitchen may go in on Friday. DP will wonder what the hell is going on when he comes home! Grin
