To not believe Boris Johnson at all and think he's a ringer

I don't feel that Boris J is at all convincing in his new anti Europe stance. I think he's a ringer that will go down in the last round/ make the anti campaign seem weak to help DC win?

Political suicide for Boris, if it is true.
I don't quite understand the "supra national" element. I live in another EU country and there is no mention of not being a sovereign state.

I don't think bj is the self sacrificing type, particularly not for the cause of dc! I presume he reckons that if the referendum goes his way he'll be well placed for a Tory leadership bid, if it doesn't he can lie low for a while and try to takeover at another point.

It's not just Boris though, it's Gove and IDS as well. I do think it's a double bluff to get us all to vote with Cameron.

I am absolutely convinced this is all part of DC plan , I don't think for one minute he wants us to stay in the EU but forfeiture good relations he has to pretend to try his best, there is know way he wouldn't know which way his most influential MP would jump, the whole theatrics of the pathetic negotiations dragging on and Boris not being able to make up his mind , mmming and arrring then suddenly come out all guns blazing to fight for the out vote !! I'm an out voter but even I can see this pretty thin ruse

He has been very quiet recently, looking a little smarter, his wife recently made the news with her critical essay on Europe

Of ww stay in and I hope we do, a Eurosceptic PM would be a big panacea to the brexit campaign Tories. All politics is posturing. BoJo is not going to risk his throne.

I think Boris does want to leave the EU. And I think more Tory politicians will join the "out" campaign.

This actually entered my head this morning. But he wants to be PM. I don't think he would risk his career.

Someone on TV said this morning that he has never like DC since school and has been dying to do this for years.

Dc is leaving before the next election- why would boris do this for him?

However, I agree it looks insincere. I think boris just felt the way the winds are blowing and took a chance. He wants to be next pm.

I'm with Mrsbird in that I dont think DC wants us to stay necessarily, although now he has negotiated and stated his 'side' he'll follow that through to the bitter end.

I think he thinks he can help ensure DC loses this. DC will,then be kicked out as leader and BJ will swoop in.

I think its oldnews about his child. And people don't seem bothered about that sort of thing anymore. So unless there's othervstuff?? I can imagine he's had affairs in the past but I think he would just hold his hands up and say yes, so what.

I can see him asPM, public seem to like him.

The fact that the public seems to like him is one of the main regrets I have that we didn't win independence in Scotland.

Fucked if I'll put up with Prime Minister Johnson and fucked if I give the remotest tiny shit what he thinks on Europe or anything.

As PP said, too many skeletons in the closet. Yes, he's had affairs and possibly a love child as well. But it's his general demeanour as well, the scruffiness and verbosity but saying very little of significance.

Unfortunately a lot of the British public seem bedazzled by him and admire his 'wit' and vocabulary. I put him the same bracket as Stephen Fry tbh, to some a 'national treasure', to others a pimple on the backside of Tory politics.

Same works the other way round. There are some very big Eurosceptics in both big parties, that are saying they are IN too.

I can't imagine him as PM. I like him, but can't imagine such a buffoon figure taken seriously on a world stage a bit like Ed M. I can also imagine an event like the Ed eating of a bacon sandwich, bringing a downfall for Boris. He's not polished enough and I think that's important, shallow or not.
