Playdate DCs haven't been picked up. Should I drop them off?

So a mum from my DCs school asked me to have her two DCs today as her two are the same age/in the same class as my two youngest.
The DCs have been here a couple of times before but usually I arrange this with their dad and he picks them up.
But he is away on business and so their mum asked me to take them today as a favour whilst she is in work.

I've had them since 9 this morning. She was supposed to pick them up at 6:30. I called her at 7 and 7:30 and 8 and 8:15 but she's not replying. I have text her a number of times and nothing.

My DCs should be in bed. Her eldest isn't bothered but her youngest is getting upset saying that she should be in bed. I haven't told them that their mum should have picked them up by now.

Should I go round to theirs? I don't want to worry the DCs if their mum isn't there when we get there. But I would like to know where she is. So would I be unreasonable to go round there?

I imagine record is having to be breezy and cheerful with the children as she gets them ready for school, if there's been no news.

Frazzled2207 · 22/02/2016 07:24

Thinking about op and these poor kids. I can't believe the mother is taking the piss, something must have happened but hopefully it will all be ok.

OP you've been coping far better than I would have. Well done so far.

TheAngelofNitshillRoad · 22/02/2016 07:24

Would the police have involved SS by now? Would they leave them there overnight?

TheAngelofNitshillRoad · 22/02/2016 07:25

...do they involve SS if a friend or someone has them?

OTheHugeManatee · 22/02/2016 07:26

An hour late on Sunday night is taking the piss, overnight with no message is something wrong. Hope all gets sorted today OP.

var123 · 22/02/2016 07:26

Whatever way you look at it, those poor children won't be back with their mother today because its either abandonment or she's ill / had an accident and is unable to even call.

I hope she is ok.

anklebitersmum · 22/02/2016 07:28

TheAngel not usually if they're safe, sound and asleep it's in no-one's best interests to move them.

Also holding my breath overseas hoping that it will all be OK for both Mother, children and that OP is OK.

Kukumbr · 22/02/2016 07:29

Oh god still no sign? So sorry op. You're doing great with the children. Hope she turns up soon and she's well.

BriocheBriocheBrioche · 22/02/2016 07:30

Hope you and the kids are ok this morning OP.
Keeping my fingers crossed that Mum turns up soon and well

Conflictedkate · 22/02/2016 07:32

Gosh how worrying

katienana · 22/02/2016 07:33

Hope op managed to get some sleep last night and nothing terrible has happened. Poor kids.

Fairylea · 22/02/2016 07:34

How very worrying :( really hoping you get some good news today and the mum is okay. Flowers

ZanyMobster · 22/02/2016 07:35

It is a really worrying situation but I am sure the OP will update as soon as she is able. There will be no space shortly for her to do so . . .

CooPie10 · 22/02/2016 07:36

Hope the mum is ok. The poor kids must be worried and wondering what's going on. Op you are lovely for dealing with this in a caring way.

Phalenopsisgirl · 22/02/2016 07:36

Everyone seems to have had the same first thought this morning. Let's hope no news is good news, mum turned up late night and op is so exhausted she hasn't had time to update.

SandunesAndRainclouds · 22/02/2016 07:37

Well done OP for keeping the children safe overnight. I really hope their mother has been found safe and sound somewhere.

Topsy34 · 22/02/2016 07:38

theangel i think police and ss would leave the children where they are during the night as they are asleep and safe.

Hoping its all a misunderstanding and the mum is ok

murphys · 22/02/2016 07:38

Gosh OP. Hoping all is ok.

Christinayangstwistedsista · 22/02/2016 07:38

This thread is shortly going to be full and closed due to a lot of drivel... Why don't we wait until op asks for advice instead of endless posts about how worried you are

StealthPolarBear · 22/02/2016 07:41

I've reported your post and asked for the thread to eb kept open past 1000

MattDillonsPants · 22/02/2016 07:41

Well said Christina and I said the same earlier. I hope people shut up now.

Christinayangstwistedsista · 22/02/2016 07:43

Report away

loopsylala · 22/02/2016 07:44

still no news? :o

Sarah715 · 22/02/2016 07:48

I hope everything is alright this morning. I'm hoping she just went for a drink after work, got carried away and so on. I'd rather think she was an inconsiderate person than someone nice whom something had happened to, I suppose.

Good luck

Ringadingdingdong22 · 22/02/2016 07:53

I read this thread last night when it was still on page 1. Shocked to read this morning that she's still not shown up. Really hope it all turns out ok. Those poor kids, they must be feeling very confused. Thank god they're with you.
