Playdate DCs haven't been picked up. Should I drop them off?

So a mum from my DCs school asked me to have her two DCs today as her two are the same age/in the same class as my two youngest.
The DCs have been here a couple of times before but usually I arrange this with their dad and he picks them up.
But he is away on business and so their mum asked me to take them today as a favour whilst she is in work.

I've had them since 9 this morning. She was supposed to pick them up at 6:30. I called her at 7 and 7:30 and 8 and 8:15 but she's not replying. I have text her a number of times and nothing.

My DCs should be in bed. Her eldest isn't bothered but her youngest is getting upset saying that she should be in bed. I haven't told them that their mum should have picked them up by now.

Should I go round to theirs? I don't want to worry the DCs if their mum isn't there when we get there. But I would like to know where she is. So would I be unreasonable to go round there?

Hope everything is ok OP

HibernoCaledonian · 21/02/2016 22:37

I hope everything is okay.

NameChangeEr · 21/02/2016 22:37

Hope that you're busy sorting the children out in their own home, not dealing with police and very upset children.

turkeylovessprout · 21/02/2016 22:37

NotmyNN - so glad you are better now. That's so sad :(

Ohfourfoxache · 21/02/2016 22:38

Oh Notmy Sad Thanks

This thread has got the hairs on the back of my neck on end. I really, really hope this is a case of the mother taking the piss and nothing "serious" Sad

duckbilled · 21/02/2016 22:38

Really hoping that everything has been sorted op Flowers

OVienna · 21/02/2016 22:38

I work on an office and have had to go in many times over the years at the weekend to finish a reports etc. There is one scenario to consider: different offices have different security regimes. In some it wouldn't be inconceivable to get locked in if you lost your pass etc. it might take a while for the security guards to find you if it's a Sunday and in my friend's office they are responsible for closing down the building when they leave. she could still ring though. I am hoping it is something mundane but annoying this though.

HannahLily2014 · 21/02/2016 22:39

Hope everything is all sorted Thanks

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 21/02/2016 22:39

NotmyFlowers. Good point who would be working in an office on a Sunday. Unless of course she is the CEO.

nobodysfool · 21/02/2016 22:39

So worrying.
Those poor kids.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 21/02/2016 22:39

Notmy - God bless you. I'm so glad you got the help you needed.

Jitterybug · 21/02/2016 22:42

Hopefully the silence just means she has now turned up, fingers crossed.

JeanGenie23 · 21/02/2016 22:43

It's not unheard of to have to Work in offices at weekends, however I find losing all method of communication less believable, presumably this office has phones, computers, even if her mobile has died she could call someone else, Google your landline number, anything... Anyway that's redundant now, I just hope the children are as happy as can be in this situation Sad

taptonaria27 · 21/02/2016 22:44

Hope all is calm, the little ones are sleeping the long hours away and you have tracked down the mother or father by now. As so many others have said, the possibility of it being something awful jumps out as it's such an odd situation, I really hope it turns out to be much more mundane

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 21/02/2016 22:44

Hope she's turned up by now.

Notimefortossers · 21/02/2016 22:44

Apologies as some of you think my post was in bad taste. I will ask for them to be removed. Its obvious we're all very worried, feeling sick and on tender hooks so was just trying to lighten the mood until the OP returns. Poor judgement

DeriArms · 21/02/2016 22:44

Really hoping for a good outcome here. The poor kids and also poor OP being suddenly thrust into this situation.
Good luck OP, hope the children have got to bed OK and you've either got through to the police or a friend/family member of Mum's who can shed some light.
