Playdate DCs haven't been picked up. Should I drop them off?

So a mum from my DCs school asked me to have her two DCs today as her two are the same age/in the same class as my two youngest.
The DCs have been here a couple of times before but usually I arrange this with their dad and he picks them up.
But he is away on business and so their mum asked me to take them today as a favour whilst she is in work.

I've had them since 9 this morning. She was supposed to pick them up at 6:30. I called her at 7 and 7:30 and 8 and 8:15 but she's not replying. I have text her a number of times and nothing.

My DCs should be in bed. Her eldest isn't bothered but her youngest is getting upset saying that she should be in bed. I haven't told them that their mum should have picked them up by now.

Should I go round to theirs? I don't want to worry the DCs if their mum isn't there when we get there. But I would like to know where she is. So would I be unreasonable to go round there?

Assuming you can't leave a voice mail, how about a text saying "Hope all ok. Kids are fine. I'm concerned something's happened as you haven't been in touch. I'll phone 101 if I haven't heard from you by 10pm."

rainbowunicorn · 21/02/2016 21:50

I hope everything turns out alright, must be a worry

Ohfourfoxache · 21/02/2016 21:51

God this sounds quite worrying actually Sad

Completely agree with ^ re 101. Hope all is ok Thanks

Pipbin · 21/02/2016 21:51

Don't worry too much about a uniform in the morning, assuming the situation isn't resolved but do let the school know.

Hopefully she's got caught up at work. I hope you hear from her soon.

DrRanjsRightEyebrow · 21/02/2016 21:51

Really hope you've listened to everyone and have called 101 by now.

Passmethecrisps · 21/02/2016 21:51

There is a large company has offices near us where staff man telephones almost 24/7 so the idea of an office job on a Sunday is surely not too challenging.

I think I would take the advice of the police person up thread and give them a call. If something has happened I would want the police to be aware that there were kids to be seen to if that makes sense?

I hope it is something banal like a flat tyre and no phone signal

God what a worry!

Major I see what you mean, my 3yo has asd and still knows where I work!
Hope it's a troll otherwise it's scary

StealthPolarBear · 21/02/2016 21:52

Would 101 advise the emergency social care contact?

clam · 21/02/2016 21:52

DrRanjsRightEyebrow "Really hope you've listened to everyone"

Hmm She's probably got her hands full putting 4+ kids to bed.

HelenaJustina · 21/02/2016 21:53

Flowers for you OP, must be incredibly stressful. My 4 year old would be beside herself by this time of night. Hope you get some good news/sleep for yourself tonight.

lunar1 · 21/02/2016 21:53

I was really hoping to here she was fine by the time is rolled to the end.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 21/02/2016 21:53

you sound very calm op. I hope you have managed to get them all to sleep and spoken to the police.

ButterIsAngelSpunk · 21/02/2016 21:54

To echo some of the previous posters, I work in a Monday to Friday office job, but I've worked today and yesterday, it's not unusual in the current climate

ihatethecold · 21/02/2016 21:54

I work a long shift in an office on a Sunday. It does happen.

SpaceDinosaur · 21/02/2016 21:54

Keep calm
Look after the kids
When they're settled (and this could take a lot of reassurance poor loves) then I would call 101.

I too remember the other thread where mum was in hospital and there had been a miscommunication between mum and dad about the children owing to the urgency of the situation.

Any word yet?

hownottofuckup · 21/02/2016 21:54

Yes go calling 101, how worrying!

MarthasHarbour · 21/02/2016 21:55

If you have to get the DCs to school tomorrow, see if friends can rally round with uniforms.

Really hoping this is a piss take but holding your hand in the meantime Flowers

toopeoply · 21/02/2016 21:55

Hope all ok op

Waltermittythesequel · 21/02/2016 21:56

People need to calm down with the demands to do things now Hmm

thekaratekid · 21/02/2016 21:56

What a worrying situation. I was going to suggest for your friend to knock at the nextdoor neighbours and see if they have a contact number for the dh?...but having just seen the time and it's getting a quite late might not be a good idea.

Hoping it is something silly like her car has broken down and she is getting it towed somewhere and her phone battery has died.
