Playdate DCs haven't been picked up. Should I drop them off?

So a mum from my DCs school asked me to have her two DCs today as her two are the same age/in the same class as my two youngest.
The DCs have been here a couple of times before but usually I arrange this with their dad and he picks them up.
But he is away on business and so their mum asked me to take them today as a favour whilst she is in work.

I've had them since 9 this morning. She was supposed to pick them up at 6:30. I called her at 7 and 7:30 and 8 and 8:15 but she's not replying. I have text her a number of times and nothing.

My DCs should be in bed. Her eldest isn't bothered but her youngest is getting upset saying that she should be in bed. I haven't told them that their mum should have picked them up by now.

Should I go round to theirs? I don't want to worry the DCs if their mum isn't there when we get there. But I would like to know where she is. So would I be unreasonable to go round there?

monkeyfacegrace · 21/02/2016 21:43

Have you heard from her at all during the day? So you know the last time she was 'okay' iyswim?

fruitbat2008 · 21/02/2016 21:43

Any news? Cant stop thinking about your situation hope all is well eventually.

FattyNinjaOwl · 21/02/2016 21:43

I hope the mum is safe.
I presume OP is busy putting all the DC to bed and will then make phone calls to the police, out of earshot of the children. It's all well and good saying "phone immediately" but the last thing she wants to do is worry the DC further.

loopsylala · 21/02/2016 21:44

Please phone the police if you haven't already.

SuperCee7 · 21/02/2016 21:44

Hope you've got some better news OP.

revealall · 21/02/2016 21:45

MajorI looked after another school mums children in a very similar instance. The dad picked them up at 9.45 as he had been stuck working. Although I knew the name of their company they had offices all over the place world..it's hard to get hold of people if their mobiles are off or down for any reason.

WonderingAspie · 21/02/2016 21:46

Wow, hope she has turned up! I remember the last thread as well, hope it's not the same situation but for someone who is in work in an office, I can't imagine another scenario other than something has happened.

ShamefulPlaceMarker · 21/02/2016 21:46

Have you asked the kids whether they have grandparents or relatives in the area?

Text her and tell her you're about to call the police.

If she is safe and taking the piss, that'll spur her into action.

FannyFifer · 21/02/2016 21:48

Jings hope this all turns out ok.

jadorecakesnbiscuits · 21/02/2016 21:48

Wasn't a motorway closed both ways in Cumbria as of about 17:30? Long shot but it could be something to do with that? Could she be stuck in traffic?

clam · 21/02/2016 21:48

Do you have the dad's mobile number? Try calling him directly - being abroad won't prevent his phone from ringing and it's not as if this isn't important.

Gazelda · 21/02/2016 21:48

That's a good idea TheAngelofN

WheresTheCoffee · 21/02/2016 21:49

I hope the children can settle and I think calling 101 for some advice is a good idea too.

StealthPolarBear · 21/02/2016 21:49

There are plenty of offices open at this time on a Sunday. However if you do work in an office I can't imagine a situation where you could be so late in this scenario or fail to contact.

BloodyPlantagenets · 21/02/2016 21:49

Hope you've gone quiet because she's turned up.

DustOffYourHighestHopes · 21/02/2016 21:49

My DH has an office job and is working right now. It's not unheard of.

OohMavis · 21/02/2016 21:49

My first thought was she'd come home, had a quick cuppa and fallen asleep. But, if you've been there, knocked loudly and no answer...

clam · 21/02/2016 21:49

Fidelia Do we know that the parents are separated/divorced?

And I too was wondering how many 'offices' work on Sundays.
