to wonder if people would admit to voting "leave" in the EU Referendum?

Apparently there is a lot of inconsistency in answers when pollsters phone people and ask for their decision on Brexit compared to answers given online (respondents are more likely to say they will vote to "remain" on the phone but in online polls say they will vote to "leave"). I wonder if people admitting that they are going to vote "leave" is seen as taboo in the same way that nobody apparently voted for the Tories in the GE Grin. If you are intending to vote "leave" would you admit it to friends and family (especially if you think they are more likely to vote "remain") or are you afraid of being called a Little Englander?

Both my parents voted leave. If I hear my father complaining that his shares have crashed (markets back to 1986 levels this morning) or that they don't see enough of my son I'm going to find it hard to bite my tongue. Brexit is bad news for us personally - husband stands good chance of losing his job when City has to relocate to Frankfurt and he'll want to move us back to Italy which is a personal distaster for me. They'll see very little of us if that happens.

Can't bring myself to speak to either of them at the moment.

Peach - how will England (don't you mean Great Britain?) be more friendly? Half the nation will now be set against the other half who voted the other way. Or is closing our doors to those horrible Europeans what you meant?

I know people who admit to deliberately lying when answering opinion polls to confuse the issue, for what purpose I am not sure.

Most of my family voted leave and they had no qualms about telling people quite proudly I'm not proud of them however. It was mainly down to immigration they voted how they did, they did no research and just fell for all the propaganda. Where as I researched it fully and make an informed (remain) decision.
