To be excited that David Cameron could be gone in 4 months

I'm assuming now that BJ will support the brexit campaign and if we vote to leave DC will have no choice but to resign and BJ would be the obvious replacement.

Also I do think SC came across really well on bake off, she did seem lovely. I wouldn't mind her being PM.

OP posts:

SamCam seems to be to be unremittingly dull. All she seems to do is simper at his side. Is she intelligent and successful? I have no idea.

I used to like Sarah Brown. And similarly, while Cherie was/is allegedly involved in goodness knows what, at least she was always her own person.

Believeitornot · 20/02/2016 14:48

The PM just heads up the Tory party so I fail to see what difference it would make.

However if he did go, given that he's probably one of the few politicians with any popularity, it might damage to tories. All to the good.

OhYouLuckyDuck · 20/02/2016 14:49

What if we got rid of DC and got Gove instead?

deregistered · 20/02/2016 14:50

Nope still absolutely no idea what relevance Sam Cam has to the Brexit issue. Or any spouse of any leader.

Sophie38 · 20/02/2016 14:51

I'd only be excited if the tories were going. DC going makes no difference at all.

If Gove heads up the Brexit campaign we could have him for PM. Now there's a thought.

HesterShaw · 20/02/2016 15:03

What if we got rid of DC and got Gove instead?

Is that likely? Even the Tory party seem to realise he's poison.

HesterShaw · 20/02/2016 15:04

deregistered, me neither. I was just joining in.

OhYouLuckyDuck · 20/02/2016 15:07

I think the Tory party realise that Gove is poison too but I'd rather keep Cameron and not have Gove - and that's saying something. I'd happily wave goodbye to the whole lot of them after the mess that Gove and Morgan have/are making of education.

coffeeisnectar · 20/02/2016 15:07

I have to say I think Gove or Boris would be a much worse prospect in power especially without the EU to rein them in. Say bye bye to any rights as women, workers or human rights.

VertigoNun · 20/02/2016 15:08

If DC goes it's likely there will be a GE. The Tory party were not happy that Brown took over from Blair without going to a GE.

There are two reasons to break the five year government term, one is if 3/4 of MP's vote to go for a GE.

OhYouLuckyDuck · 20/02/2016 15:08

The FT explain some of it here

YesterdayOnceMore · 20/02/2016 15:08

Sadly 60% of those who voted in Gove's consituancy don't think he's poison.

I think the comment about Samantha Cameron were a side thought- OP saying "I don't like DC but SC seems ok".

YesterdayOnceMore · 20/02/2016 15:10

I don't think there'd be a GE after DC resigns. They complained about Brown, yes, but politicians (of both sides) apply differ standards to themselves and the opposition.

writingonthewall · 20/02/2016 15:13

lauren you know Samantha Cameron personally? Can't see otherwise how you know that she is lovely. Could just be good at playing up for the cameras.

JoffreyBaratheon · 20/02/2016 15:17

One old Etonian is the same as another. I'll only feel happy when they've all gone. What they have done to this country - the way they have attacked the disabled and the disadvantaged in particular - actually puts them beyond even Thatcher in callousness. Really, deeply nasty pieces of work. And anyone who'd marry one of them must be an equally nasty piece of shit.

I should think the baked bean faced idiot will be Teflon to the end of his term.

JoffreyBaratheon · 20/02/2016 15:19

Gove is a shameful excuse of a 'man'. His comment about ordinary soldiers in fact being donkeys led by lions (that was the gist of it, anyway) was enough to make me think he was as worthless and vile as every other tory in the cabinet (and a few that have failed to get into the cabinet like the slimy, spineless creature we have for an MP in this constituency who can only be an Old Etonian in his creepy dreams).

DiagnosisMurderBiggestFan · 20/02/2016 15:22

I can't see us staying in the EU due to the whole migrant crisis/hysteria. People are always looking for someone to blame for their problems, no doubt this is it for us as a union. I think it was the same reasoning that caused people to vote the Tories in again.

OneWingWonder · 20/02/2016 15:24

JoffreyBaratheon

'Really, deeply nasty pieces of work. And anyone who'd marry one of them must be an equally nasty piece of shit.'

This shows what the so-called 'kinder, gentler politics' promised by Corbyn really means - pure hate, spite, and abuse from the hard left.

wasonthelist · 20/02/2016 15:25

No it isn't

The Tory party were not happy that Brown took over from Blair without going to a GE.

Yes, but that was when another party was doing it - if they do it, it will be fine (with them). They won't want to have an unplanned GE unless there's something like another Falklands that gives them a big unusual advantage.

ouryve · 20/02/2016 15:27

Yabu.

Can't stand the man but the alternatives are truly terrifying.

wasonthelist · 20/02/2016 15:27

People like Gove should just join UKIP if they can't go along with their party's declared policy on europe.

Chipstick10 · 20/02/2016 15:28

I don't favour many politicians but at least we can get rid of them if we so wish, not a chance with the faceless bureaucrats in the EU .

wasonthelist · 20/02/2016 15:29

This shows what the so-called 'kinder, gentler politics' promised by Corbyn really means - pure hate, spite, and abuse from the hard left.

No it doesn't - you are relating two entirely unrelated things to suit your own agenda.
