Wow these kind of threads are so cringey.

Like the toe curling 'where is everyone? [sad face]' threads. And the 'we're the real mumsnetters from the days when everything was hilarious and non PC and, like, really intelligent and everything'.

Funnily enough these kind of threads have been going on for 10 years since I joined MN. So not sure how far back we have to go for the real deal posters!

I'd like a site with more privacy. I now name change every few posts!

donajimena · 20/02/2016 12:12

Why don't we have another who is your favourite mumsnetter? thread while we are at it. Wink

Ha ha yes dona and the obligatory, faux 'I never even notice nickmames'/'mumsnet royalty' is just a myth

Report
MrsJayy · 20/02/2016 12:16

Why do you feel the need to name change every other day genuine question

Report
MrsJayy · 20/02/2016 12:17

Oo favourite mumnsnetter has to be vinegar tits where ever they are I luvs them

mrsjayy because I escaped an abusive marriage and although my ex is now in prison he knows I'm a Mumsnetter and he'll be out of prison one day. I don't want him to ever find me on here and then work out things about my new life.

MrsJayy · 20/02/2016 12:23

Oh Gretchen so sorry to hear that Flowers

deregistered - but the site is different now to when I was young and it was green fields as far as the eye could see. Mind you, me and thee are probably a tad different now to 10 years ago too so only seems fair to let MN change too these days I can't see well enough to tell whether there are green fields or high rise flats

deregistered if you've been her for 10 years, doesn't that make you Mumsnet Royalty?

Or do you not count because you name change every so often, like lots if long term posters?

Either way, dickish thing to say.

There are two types of mnetter. One type accept it as a forum for everyone, the other type feel its 'theirs' and anyone who doesn't conform is 'ruining it'. I know which one I am.

I am not sure Mrsjayy. Personally, I know that once I had joined and found my feet I used to start a lot of threads without giving it much thought, and it was great.

Now I don't. I really think about starting a thread and usually don't bother. Even replying to threads- I type, and delete and retype and try and really think about it.

So something must have changed even since 2011.

Oh god, that brings back memories. I remember this so well. It was a blinding time, thread upon thread ran. Good times.

Its just bigger now so naturally there are more twats. A secret exclusive 'club' is a childish response to this.

Report
poemontheocean · 20/02/2016 15:23

A non PC exclusive club Grin

Afternoon y'all.

Was OP pissed and had a mad moment, as it's a rubbish suggestion?, the secret secret club for special folkSmile.

Anyway, I find the 'I've been here donkeys years' posts so picky, who cares how many years we've all been here? It's the name changing goady arses who are the problem regardless how long they've been here.

Report
LaurieFairyCake · 20/02/2016 15:54

It was by invitation

And most of them came back (slightly sheepishly like they had a bad hangover)

It wasn't a great idea and people were genuinely hurt by it

I'd join a non-PC excloosif club, I would Grin

I joined just a few months before the whole Mouldies thing exploded and I just hung around for the rubber necking - it was morbidly fascinating and not v edifying tbh.

I don't get the 'we need a separate corner of the interweb for only us' thing Confused

I wasn't here for the original Moldies.Sad I assume I will get an invite to this Moldies2.

Will there be a Sex Topic OP?
