He's a great actor, and he made ace Bond. But - Bond is not blonde. Fact.

Roll on Aidan Turner.

Richard Armitage's mouth is too small

Dowser · 16/02/2016 14:49

No,deffo not Ewan mcgregor..he doesn't have the stature. I'm not talking height either!

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 16/02/2016 14:49

Andrew Lincoln would be a good Bond, he can fight Zombies so he can deal with Blofeld trying to take over the world, piece of piss.

Dowser · 16/02/2016 14:50

Might as well say Simon Pegg lol

Tootsieglitterballs · 16/02/2016 14:50

He's not officially quit has he?! Isn't it just speculation at the moment?

We finally watched spectre the other night and it seemed like it was his last film.

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 16/02/2016 15:00

Steve merchant is about the right age, english, and definitely not too short

dustarr73 · 16/02/2016 15:04

I think Simon Pegg would be great as a spoof but i dont know whether you could take him serious.Saying that he was quite fit in Hot Fuzz.

squoosh · 16/02/2016 15:04

Ewan McGregor has had his perfectly nice teeth replaced with Hollywood horse teeth route so he's on my blacklist.

He looks like bloody Rylan.

To be glad that Daniel Craig has resigned as Bond?
SaucyJack · 16/02/2016 15:26

Speaking of Rylan....

The first gay Bond? And why not?

CaveMum · 16/02/2016 15:34

He hasn't quit yet, so far it's all rumour. As we speak he is signed up for 1 more film.

He did an interview before Christmas where he seemed to, accidentally, confirm he would be doing another one. Something to do with the next film being due out in 2017 and that he usually gets a script 2 years before that to allow for rehearsal, filming and post-production. Ergo implying he's already got the script for the next film.

His comment about wanting to rip his arm off was taken out of context. He was saying he'd rather rip his arm off than do another one AFTER his current contract expires. Surely that's no different to Sir Steve Redgrave saying he wanted shooting of he was very went near a boat again.

CaveMum · 16/02/2016 15:35

"If he ever went near a boat again"

Thinking about it - bond is a character with a back story and he is old school. I think it would be very difficult to then go with a woman/gay man/black man. I actually think they would be better to set it back in the sixties

But, they have enough capital and a big enough name to start another franchise - maybe based on the other double 0's - and a modern spy is far more likely to be female or an ethnic minority. I would go and watch it if I liked the lead!

Other problem with a female bond is that the core audience are women who want to shag bond and men who want to be bond!

Starting another franchise with a female lead could make it the other way round!!

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 16/02/2016 15:39

I would love to see a remake of Goldfinger.

PollyPerky · 16/02/2016 15:41

You are all wasting your time girls...

this is what the link says...

UPDATE: The Independent has learnt that a decision on whether Craig will return as Bond has not been reached, but if he does appear in Purity it does not necessarily mean he will not be back to play Bond.

He will be back as Bond I am sure.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 16/02/2016 17:22

Even if Daniel Craig isn't leaving just now, he will leave eventually and I'm sure Barbara appreciates our efforts to help her with the casting Wink

What about Nick Blood? He's about the right age and suitably rakish/spy-like in Agents of Shield. crosses fingers that he doesn't have sex addict eyes too

To be glad that Daniel Craig has resigned as Bond?
AMouseLivedinaWindMill · 16/02/2016 17:25

Actually Ewan M is not a bad choice, if he can do posh eng accent..

MitzyLeFrouf · 16/02/2016 17:28

I think Ewan is too sluggish. I can't imagine him arse kicking.

AMouseLivedinaWindMill · 16/02/2016 17:28

Colin Firth - too weak, was good in Kingsman But...

HOwever there was an excellent young in in Kingsman who was robbed of the new comers award at the Baftas...Tarren - he would be OK a new young bond...an actor to watch thats for sure.

Tarron - welsh for THUNDER.

BuntyCollocks · 16/02/2016 17:42

Damian Lewis is my choice. I did like DC though.

Palomb · 16/02/2016 18:28

Colin Firth is gorgeous and would be absolutely perfect, he was amazing in Kingsman. I do think he's probably too old now though. He'd have been a better choice than Daniel Craig when that decision was being made. Dc has turned me right off Bond. We've not even bothered going to see spectre.

FolknNorah · 16/02/2016 18:38

It would be really great if you could all post pictures to go with your nominees, in the interest of research you understand?

I agree that with thespottedzebra and hester wrt FAF Zaf. Most enthusiastically.
I also like Jason Isaacs, Idris and Tom Hardy - Richard Armitage could also work. Grin

AMouseLivedinaWindMill · 16/02/2016 18:41

pal I was put off by the poor reviews of spectre but I was very pleasantly surpised it had much more of a 60's /70's bond too it, great locations, looked good and I enjoyed the stroy more than last ones...

Folk I dont know how too, otherwise I would show AT in his tux....

patiently waiting for someone to show us AT in his TUX>

Frostycake · 16/02/2016 18:47

Adam Rayner, 38 from Shrewsbury. Great actor.

Lusted after him in Mistresses.

To be glad that Daniel Craig has resigned as Bond?
ginghamcricketbox · 16/02/2016 18:53

Here you go, can't say I'm impressed.
