He's a great actor, and he made ace Bond. But - Bond is not blonde. Fact.

Roll on Aidan Turner.

Ah, Hester, I have just read back and realised Gerard has been harshly cast out. Sex addict eyes obviously work for me Grin

HesterShaw · 16/02/2016 12:44

Re Ioan Gruffudd (I spelt his surname wrong before), it seems as though Wales Online in their rop 50 sexist Welshmen in 2012 was thinking along the same lines:

"Number 20 Ioan Gruffudd

With his curly brown hair and sparkly eyes, 39-year-old Ioan would make the perfect James Bond in our opinion. But the Aberdare-born actor thinks he has too much of a baby face to play 007. To be honest, we just want to see more of him on the small screen. Any excuse!"

howabout · 16/02/2016 12:46

DC never worked as Bond for me and blondeness was only part of the problem - too lacking in charm. I liked Timothy Dalton.

Massive fan of Idris and Rufus but I think they are too old. I can't imagine Aidan being quite callous enough. Gerrard is a bit too rough round the edges and James McEvoy is a wee bit too boyish.

I think David Tennant would be perfect - he made a superb Casanova Grin.

squoosh · 16/02/2016 12:47

David Tennant is the worst suggestion so far!

I'll gladly see the whey faced and the pinheads in the role before him.

SwedeDreams · 16/02/2016 12:51

Aiden turner is the obvious choice. Vote aiden!

SoupDragon · 16/02/2016 12:53

There is no such person as Aiden Turner.

Unless you meant Aidan Turner...?

SwedeDreams · 16/02/2016 12:56

See?

To be glad that Daniel Craig has resigned as Bond?
rosebiggs · 16/02/2016 12:56

I think that there might be an Aiden Turner somewhere. He's probably an insurance salesman though, and not a handsome James Bond hopeful.

PollyPerky · 16/02/2016 12:56

where is the news that he's not doing Bond now? (DC)

all I read ages back was that he was sick of Bond but it was 'Bond filming fatigue' and he wasn't actually saying never again.

SwedeDreams · 16/02/2016 12:58

Argh. Yes, yes I did mean Aidan but unfortunately my phone likes to change that to Cheam. Confused

squoosh · 16/02/2016 12:59

Apparently Daniel Craig has quit the franchise so he can take a job on a TV show called Purity.

crabb · 16/02/2016 13:04

Not British I know, but Hugh Jackman might do the trick.

HesterShaw · 16/02/2016 13:06

Has anyone ever been as sexy as Huge Ackman in Australia even though the film isn't much cop? I don't think so.

Unfortunately he might be a bit long in the tooth to start Bond now at this stage of his career.

StDogolphin · 16/02/2016 13:06

How about the actor that played Neville Longbottom on Harry Potter?

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 16/02/2016 13:20

Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) is too young as he is only 26. However, he may well be a name for the future.

squoosh · 16/02/2016 13:23

I know Matthew Lewis had that big makeover and there was a photo doing the rounds of him in his pants but in reality he's still quite an ordinary joe.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 16/02/2016 13:29

That picture of Aidan captures it all, is there one of him playing poker wearing a tux? I'm on my PC, hard to do pictures.

Why's nobody else supporting Davood/Kush?

The Stenders writers could have him poached by an enigmatically authoritative woman, leading to red-herring plotlines about a possible OW or fears of 'radicalisation'. Then he can mysteriously disappear off in a black limo driven by someone in a Navy uniform ...

... only to reappear at the cinema, 18 months later, in glorious supersized hotness, growling "The name's Bond".

I'm enjoying this, can you tell?

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 16/02/2016 13:41

James Norton would be a possibility.
This thread has cheered up my day no end. All these lovely pictures!

BreakingDad77 · 16/02/2016 13:58

Send Colin Firth to the gym and maybe?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 16/02/2016 14:34

Richard Armitage would do it for me. Are you sure we can't have Michael Fassbender? I'm liking Daario from Game of Thrones too. Or what about Ewan McGregor if you dyed his hair and eyebrows black? like in Moulin Rouge

dustarr73 · 16/02/2016 14:39

Oh Tom Hiddlesome as Bond would be great.I think he looks better out of character than as Loki.

How bout Colin Farrell. He has the swagger.

Dowser · 16/02/2016 14:42

Was Andrew Lincoln in love actually. If so I love him!

Andrew lincoln for bond ( ditching Aidan turner!)

I'm so shallow!

squoosh · 16/02/2016 14:43

Egg from This Life cannot be Bond.

No.
