Re Ioan Gruffudd (I spelt his surname wrong before), it seems as though Wales Online in their rop 50 sexist Welshmen in 2012 was thinking along the same lines:

DC never worked as Bond for me and blondeness was only part of the problem - too lacking in charm. I liked Timothy Dalton.

Massive fan of Idris and Rufus but I think they are too old. I can't imagine Aidan being quite callous enough. Gerrard is a bit too rough round the edges and James McEvoy is a wee bit too boyish.

I think David Tennant would be perfect - he made a superb Casanova .

Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) is too young as he is only 26. However, he may well be a name for the future.
