To think that Julianne Moore should have worn tights

Yes, I bet if she had on a bucketload of bronzer you wouldn't think she needed tights. As a pale type myself I get tired of this prejudice against white legs. We shouldn't have to wear uncomfortable tights or toxic chemicals on our legs just to be acceptable to others.

It is one thing I really admire Julianne Moore for actually - she always embraces her paleness and looks natural, never succumbs to this Hollywood pressure to be plastic and bronzed.

But WHY???

It's a matter of taste. I'm not bothered by people's peely wally skin, I'm fair too.

She can do what she likes, I'm not a great fan of the look but I don't imagine she gives a toss.

What's wrong with her legs?

If she had a sunbed or fake tan then she wouldn't need tights that's why...
Of course pale legs can look great. But gets dont. And she would look much better if she had tanned them. And if they were my legs, that's what id do.

Of course she seems perfectly happy with her legs so she doesn't actually have to do anything really.

What exactly is it about her legs that is offensive to your eyes though? If some pale ones can look great, but hers don't?

She doesn't need tights just because her normal skin tone is pale. Do black people need to bleach their skin so it 'looks better'?

I don't see what needs hiding on her legs? Is it that they are skin coloured? Is that supposed to be bad? OR an age thing?

Why though ? would a man be expected to hide his legs if he were wearinf shorts ?

I thank God bare legs are now exceptable.

She can wear whatever she likes. I don't find it offensive, off-putting or anything like that.

However, had it been me wearing an outfit like that, I would have worn tights. I have translucently pale skin, which sadly is not the same as milky white - think more purpley/blue (glamorous). I prefer how my legs look with tights. They need all the help then can get, and fake tan just doesn't work on someone as pale as me, so tights are my go-to item. Plus, I find shoes more comfortable when wearing tights.

Each to their own I say but I would have chosen tights.

Apologies if it wasn't you. If it was you, have you considered getting another hobby, rather than being unkind about other womens' appearances? You wouldn't want to come across as mean and shallow, would you?

Lol at thinking loreal are the best of the best and super expensive. Loreal products, whilst they're lovely, they aren't going to fix or stop anything serious. So she may well be using them.

Anti ageing products are not snake oil, you just have to go a bit higher end than boots and superdrug for them to work.

Her knees look fine and her legs ruined nothing. How nasty.

She is my favorite actress and I agree with you, OP. After a certain age women's knees sag and their shins get that thin-skinned scraggly look. Especially with her sort of very pale skin.

There is no shame in wearing tights to give a more polished look any more than there is shame for a women with large or aging breasts to wear a bra to achieve a firmer and more polished look. "Letting it all hang out" is not glamorous and by definition the people on a red carpet at an industry event are expected to aim for glamour.

No one is saying she should wear tights on a beach or at home working on her garden but in dressy cocktail attire, it would have been an improvement. Not to mention something other than those godawful gladiator sandals.

No, I started a thread about Victoria Beckham's outfits.

If julienne moore was my mate and we were getting ready to go out for a big do and she said to me, milli, what do you recon, no tights with these shoes,or tights with (closed toe) these shoes, then i would probably say tights and closed shoes with that dress would look nicer in my opinion but hey shes not my mate.

I wished I'd have looked like her at 35 never mind 55

How have her knees spoiled the occasion? They're just knees, most people have them.
