Ds 4 just got a little playmobil school bus, with flashing lights and he loves it. I've spent some time last night googling my old toys. People are asking for £100 for a mint condition Sindy doll!

My friend used to have a beautiful playmobil Victorian mansion, and I remember spending hours playing with it. I always liked to be the maid for some reason.

The Sindy horse is less than £10 on ebay too.

AIBU for going all gooey over toys, and I need to get a grip? Seeing the pictures online was like looking at old friends.

I miss proper fuzzy felts. The modern ones are just rubbish. I used to spend hours playing with them.

I've got my Barbies, Care Bears and My Little Ponies up in my Mum's attic and she's moving soon. I'll have to go up there to retrieve them and I'm really looking forward to it.

Me too!!!! A couple of months ago I found an old childhood favourite on EBay, I paid over the odds to have it shipped from USA. I am once again the proud owner of a Mattel Baby Beans [:)] Makes me happy!

minesapintofwine · 06/02/2016 21:12

does anybody remember these?

minesapintofwine · 06/02/2016 21:18

And the get along gang?

Kraggle · 06/02/2016 21:22

I've found my people! Just this week I was googling old toys I used to have and ended up buying some original Puppy in my Pocket puppies with their cards. (I told dh they were for our 2 year old but I was so happy when they turned up and I love watching her play with them!)

stqueen · 06/02/2016 22:22

I brought DNiece the 'Operation' and 'Guess Who' board games for Christmas and I couldn't believe how rubbish they now are!

DD received a modern version of an old favourite of mine when I was a child - a pull along slinky type dog (Fisher Price I think)

Everything is thinner, poorer quality, just generally more twee and probably safer

Weeps into wine with nostalgia

Sorry just had to share. How could I resist this cuteness?!

I found my Glo-worm recently. I just need to get some batteries for it. I assume it still works.

Games wise, I'd like to get Buckaroo and Downfall again. I might have a poke around charity shops to see if I can get old ones if the new games don't seem to be up to muster.

Strangertides1 · 06/02/2016 22:38

I get posts from an 89's kids page in fb. I would to have a scrawball scramble again, lol. I always wanted mouse trap as a kid but never got it. I can't wait until the day my kids are old enough for it.

ArabellaRockerfella · 06/02/2016 22:40

Runs to Ebay to look for a Glo-worm ...........

Toria2014 · 06/02/2016 22:44

I recently came across Flower Fairies again, just seeing one sent me rushing back in my mind to being 12 years old! The emotions, smell of my bedroom, everything!

So I may have invested in a few. They are vintage now you know! WinkThey are in a display case and my toddler regularly presses her little face up against the glass staring at them.

Natsku · 06/02/2016 22:47

Got DD lego for the first time last week on her birthday and now I'm desperately searching online for cheap second hand lego sets as I really really want to play with them. I don't bother following instructions, I just like building houses.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 06/02/2016 22:55

nattyknitter I have searched in vain for downfall, it no longer exists as far as I can tell. It was my favourite game and I never even owned it, my friend down the street did.

Funny seeing those troll dolls, I could instantly remember how they smelt.

lazyarse123 · 06/02/2016 22:57

I told my daughter that my favourite toy when i was growing up was spirograph. It was such a surprise at christmas when she gave me an original one that she had found on ebay with all its pieces. I love it. I am nearly 58.

DustyBustle · 06/02/2016 23:03

Stay Alive, a marble drop board game 'the Ultimate Survival Game' - loved it!

Hobbes8 · 06/02/2016 23:05

I still have my old 80s cabbage patch kid. When I was pregnant I went to a breastfeeding class and they told me to bring a doll, so I brought him along. Obviously I was the only person who brought something and had to pretend breastfeed the bloody thing. He's over 30 and still being breastfed.

I bought my 2 year old daughter a load of vintage care bear stuff for Christmas. We both love it. The 80s cartoon hasn't aged well though.

I still mourn the loss of the homemade dolls house I got one year. It vanished at some point after I got a stepmother who was very keen on disappearing anything from my childhood, but not the tat from her kids'...

It had little light bulbs and real glass windows. I didn't even like dolls but I loved that dolls house.

I did like Pippa dolls, though. And a rag doll my mum made me before she died which also 'vanished'.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 06/02/2016 23:19

Dusty My DM has our old 'Stay Alive' and the GC love it. You have to drop your opponents balls through a trap hole by pulling the Orange and white levers? What a classic.

cherrypopsicle · 06/02/2016 23:33

We have the Victoria playmobil mansion. It belonged to me and my sister 25 yrs ago and has been in storage for years. Got it back out a couple of years ago for my girls but I think I spend more time playing with it than them Blush. And the piano still plays it's tune!

WhirlyTwos · 07/02/2016 02:18

Huggy Bear!

I still have mine

YANBU at all. I feel the same about some books and videos from my childhood too. Sharing them with my own DCs is magical :)

fuzzpig · 07/02/2016 02:57

Dusty we have Stay Alive, got it off ebay :) didn't actually have it as a child, but a friend has her old set and I thought it was great. I got PayDay for the same reason.

nattyknitter · 07/02/2016 02:58

I'm still an Enid Blyton fan and reread the books from time to time.

I'm far too excited about The Magic Faraway Tree being made into a film.

waitingforsomething · 07/02/2016 06:14

Yanbu. My mum unearthed some of our old toys a few weeks back: she found our old playmobil hospital and my box of Polly pockets (old style) bought back so many happy memories and of course can't wait till dd is a bit bigger so she can have a play with both Smile
