I am at the conservative end of the spectrum on washing. Eg Towels are weekly. Wear my gown daily just to and from shower and bedroom, but bit worried - AIBU with lack of dressing gown washing in my house..

How often do you wash yours?

I hope the sad face doesn't mean you actually don't mean it. Peace.

Once a week in my house. eeew. I always think I'm a bit lazy with them ut my DH puts his on top of his sweaty cycling clothes which grosses me out. However, I have to report he isn't the first bloke I've known to do this.

My cleaner has started putting it in the wash every other week. Left to my own devices, maybe a couple of times a year..?

Not very often oops. I washed it just before Xmas and put it on this morning and thought urgh smells a bit rank. To be fair though I don't wear it every week, never mind daily. So just going to stick it in the wash now with my bedding. Then will do the kids after.

I only wear mine when I put my pj's on in the evening, it's like a coat really a dressing gown isn't it? You wouldn't wash a coat so often? Unless your using it as a towel I suppose? When little un's were tiny and vomiting milk all over me or I had breastmilk leaking I can think I washed it more often or I smelt like sour milk Wink

This is one for the mathematical genius among us.

X = normal clothes wearing minutes

Time of getting dressed to taking of clothes = Y minutes

Time of putting on dressing gown to taking it off equals Z minutes

Work out the average equilavent minutes we are wearing our dressing gowns to how many minutes our clothes before they are washed.

Divide one by the other, no idea which way, and we will all know when to wash them.

Note to MN, this should be absolutely priority, a press, release, contact our MPs, EMP. I will not be able to sleep if I find out I am on the dirty end of dressing gown washing.

Had it since November, washed it once, if anyone is interested.

It depends.
I often wear mine over clothes for extra warmth. How would I factor that in?
Something like multiply the time when wearing over clothes by 0.1?
But how to account for use while cooking or feeding a baby?

Sounds like a chaotic model is necessary.

Quite frequently, but I'd like to raise you all and be smug about having mine since my teens - I reckon it's 25 years old now! No holes or anything, it must have been made in an asbestos factory ...

At least fortnightly for my towelling one which I tend to put on after climbing out of the bath / shower.

Less for my fleecey one which I put on if the kids have a friend sleeping over / we have overnight guests and I feel wandering around in a nightshirt is a bit indecent. Probably more like monthly for that one.
