Taxi vomit

So this weekend I was at a work do. Went to a colleagues house that I get on with to get ready before hand all fine. We had a few drinks she was a little bit worse for wear but she decided she was coming, no problem.

Long story short she was sick in the taxi, the driver was understandably annoyed and obviously had to charge a valet charge he refused to take her home, would only take her to the venue so we battered on. I asked her where her cash was she was incapable of getting it herself, repeatedly told her she had to pay the driver the valet charge and paid the man.

Went to the Loo's I helped clean her up. Then another colleague came and to be honest I left them to it while I went to say hello to everyone I had quickly ran past to clean her up. I checked on her again but she was outside getting air so continued with my evening soon enough she was sick again and went home but not before she told everyone I had taken her money and gave me the most evil glares from a cross the room.
I thought she was just drunk and in the morning she'd wake up and realise how silly she'd been.
She didn't she berated me for not "chipping" in for the valet and for ditching her for the 20 minutes she was there.
So aibu should I offer her the money? I feel if you're sick in a taxi you pay.

I wouldn't chip in for someone else being sick in a taxi. Not my problem. I don't think you've done anything wrong.

If course you pay. She put the taxi out of action for the rest of the night so she has to pay for that.

Was it self inflicted illness aka from alcohol? I would chip in if it were a friend no they were genuinely poorly.

She must have been pretty well gone before she set off.
Yes of course she should pay. Do you know how she got home?

She is a disgrace and would no longer be my friend. She got drunk, she gas to take responsibility, instead of blaming everybody else. WhT should you pay for her being sick in the taxi, when it's her doing.

Op said she was worse for wear before the taxi, but insisted on coming. She should have stayed at home.

byosnowman I did ask her why she felt I should pay she told me if the roles were reversed she would of chipped in because we're friends.
One word ilovesooty SHOTS I refused so she drank mine to. I thought she'd be better of going to bed but she wouldn't hear of it and nor would the other two we were with.

The OP said she was a little bit the worse for wear but she must have got herself into a worse state than that. Agree she wasn't fit to go at all by the sound of it.

Odd reason to give. I would not pay and tell her it's not s Merging you would expect a friend to do!

Was she annoyed because she felt you should have paid and asked her for the money later, rather than rooting around her handbag? Not that it sounds like you would have had it repaid

To add as well our meal was paid for by the company she's now asking for her share of the meal she missed.

Is she blaming you because it was your shots she drank.

Has she previously shown such odd behaviour?

Tell her to feck off, she got herself in that position cheeky moo. Of course you went into her bag, the taxi fare needed paying, the increased cost due to her. I would be so mortified if. We're her, not blame you.

It cost £40 for a post vomit valet service back in 2004 (so I er, hear). Presumably with inflation the cost has risen since then.

I wouldn't be going halvers with someone on that. especially an entitled cow

If she doesn't like it, she knows what to do in future - stay sober. Simples.

The money for the meal is spent we all enjoyed ourselves and eat and drank the night away. So I don't know where she thinks the money's coming from.

They weren't my shots they were hers.

We don't socialise outside of work very often so I've never really seen this side of her.

I wonder how the company will feel about an employee who disgraces herself like that. She got herself into that state she was responsible for messing the taxi so she pays. She was too drunk and sick to have the meal so she does without. Depending on who the employer is there could be serious repercussions from this. This is greed for drink and not much good did it do her.

I would absolutely not chip in for the valet charge. I would have paid my share of the normal charge. She sounds bonkers!
My friend's son was sick in my car and only offered to pay half the valet cost. I sucked it up but I wish I hadn't and had said something as it still pisses me off now!

What a horrible person. She's just trying it on. There's no planet on which you should pay for that. And definitely don't go out with her again.
