Dss dyed his hair against our wishes and school is going to go mad

Dss dyed his hair yesterday to a blond colour and I personally don't like it (haven't said this). It looks very fake and doesn't not match because of his thick dark eyebrows and tanned skin tone.

Aibu to think that he did it so he should face the schools punishment.

If he's young enough for his parents to get upset about him dying his hair I think he is too young to know what a rent boy is! It's his hair and it would be ridiculous for the school to say anything about a natural tone, especially if they don't punish girls for doing the same. Mind you I think school policies on hair colour and style are generally ridiculous, it has no influence on education.

pointythings · 31/01/2016 19:37

Our school would do nothing because it's a naturally occurring colour. They only come down on things like green, blue, purple and so on.

He's teenager, don't get your knickers in such a twist about it.

TheCatsMeow · 31/01/2016 19:38

A no dye policy is ridiculous and I would support him because I don't agree with archaic pointless rules on appearance!

pointythings · 31/01/2016 19:38

And if the school goes mad, let him take the consequences and learn the lesson. No need for you to get involved at all.

TheCatsMeow · 31/01/2016 19:38

Why didn't you want him to dye it btw

He's 16!

He's 16?

Really?

-Its between him and school. Keep out of it. Laugh at him if you want - just a little bit. But really, he's 16 and you think your wishes about his hair colour are relevant?

Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2016 19:40

Lower Sixth or Year 11?

AuntieStella · 31/01/2016 19:40

Yes, he's 16 and old enough to anticipate the consequences. And should be left to face them.

And definitely take lots of photos. They might come in handy one day.

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/01/2016 19:42

very sexist if girls can dye their hair blonde but boys cant and school punishes him

i used sun in at 14 against my parents wishes, went orange Grin then a lovely shade of blonde

TheoriginalLEM · 31/01/2016 19:43

you're not his mother - beak out

Well, you don't really have a choice as to whether or not he faces the school's punishment I reckon! School aren't going to change their policy on your sayso. But yes, in principle, it's between him and the school so you shouldn't try to back him up.

BipBippadotta · 31/01/2016 19:46

Relieved to hear the school has a 'no die' policy.

ADishBestEatenCold · 31/01/2016 19:50

"I would just chuckle and tell him he looks like a rent boy then say no more about it."

That was foul, Yseulte.

Really nasty!

Yseulte · 31/01/2016 19:51

The word 'whore' is a particularly unpleasant misogynist insult, 'hooker' would be more of a parallel.

A friend of mine dyed her hair peroxide blond when we were 16, and given the 80s black Lycra dress and stilletoes, she did look rather like a hooker, although I'm not sure if anyone said so out loud.

She was ordered to dye it by the school, when she refused she was expelled.

At 16 I think you really need to back off keep your nose out.

Am surprised school doesn't allow any hair dye. How would they know if someone dyed their hair a slightly lighter or darker shade? Once you accept that premise, the usual policy is only natural hair colours, which would include blonde. Are you seriously telling us no girls at the school have bleached/highlighted hair?

Are you in the UK?

Yup, at 16, he presumably knows the school rules so he can get on with it and accept whatever they dish out.

Does his dad think otherwise? Is that why you are posting?

Yseulte · 31/01/2016 19:53

Seriously some of you need to get a sense of humour and grow up a bit.

tormentil · 31/01/2016 19:53

Choose your battles.

TheCatsMeow · 31/01/2016 19:54

I don't think that comment was offensive, my mum has said worse to me after some hair disasters lol Grin
