I am probably over thinking it! Just seems an odd phrase for a kids tshirt.

hedgehogs I saw that in Sudan: I was in the women's part of a mosque, and three very trendy young women came in, with colour co-ordinated T shirts and hijabs - one had the "fucking slag" one, one had "I'm a pornstar" and the third had one that said "lobster" Confused I was definitely Shock

I did tell them after that the things on their T shirts in English were very nasty (apart from Lobster Girl: I just told her what a lobster was) - they'd bought them in a local market.

I mean when I was a kid I ran away in two senses. First of all when my mum refused to buy me a pony...I packed my bag and sat in a nearby barn until I got bored and went home. Secondly when we were playing chappy-door-run...we sure as hell ran away then!

Anyway - perhaps you'd prefer a t-shirt that says, "I'm staying in to do sums" or sommat.

Can't see the offense at all.

I don't think a child reading the slogan would literally act on it but I do think it trivialises a serious issue in a way that is disrespectful to those affected and sets a bad example to children. Children really do run away from home and some never return, that's not something to be joked about on a t-shirt IMO.

But have they got the apostrophe in 'let's' ? or I really would be annoyed.

Because a child running away is a parents worst nightmare. Not something to be made light of on a childs tshirt

I disagree, but what is "creepy" about that? Worrying, scary etc, but creepy?

And really, its a t-shirt. No-one is actually running away, ffs!

Surely it's meant to be 'Let's run to a place that is wild and free' or some such? I seriously doubt that any would-be child abductor would believe it constituted a genuine invitation.

Over-thinking a bit IMO.

Since we're on the subject of slogans, I hate the ones for newborn babies which say 'I love Mummy/Daddy/Granny/the cat'. They don't love anything. They don't like/dislike anything. They are barely conscious proto-humans that are not capable of such mental acrobatics yet. Stop fucking ascribing emotions to them.

That was cathartic Grin

This is creepy? Does everything have to be so serious now? Confused
I would buy the wifi one if they had it in an adults size Grin

Creepy because many children that run away are lured to do it by adults.

"Let's run away" doesn't sound creepy to me. When I was a child, running away was the ultimate threat to parents who wanted me to tidy my room or something. I did "run away" once when I was about 8 but didn't get get very far. Smile It was also part of imaginative games with friends, e.g. "Let's pretend we run away and join the circus" or whatever.

What is it about the slogan that you consider creepy?

Cross posted there. I still don't see the slogan as creepy.

The t-shirt is whimsical, innocent and childish, like it's supposed to be.

And if there was a t-shirt that said "I love puppies" would you be worrying about it encouraging children to go off with a stranger to see some?

You're being daft.

I once saw a man in a park with his young son. The man was wearing a t shirt thay said 'you're a cunt'. I think the majority of t shirt slogans are awful.

omg you lot can twist anything.

I was forever holding hands witg a friend and "running away" running away meant pretending to disappear when playing with people. back in the day it would be fun.to.run round the corner and hide from parents in the shop with your Bro or sis.

it does not say, let's tun away with our teacher and have a baby.

or let's get in a strangers car

My daughter has the wifi one and loves it , I also buy it for a friends daughter and she loves it to. Think it sums up their perfect life , if only parents allowed it . I gave it with a fun intention and that was how it was received .

That t-shirt would be much nicer without any kind of slogans. I object to slogans altogether think they are tacky.

YABU. That's not creepy. Most kids think of running away as a make-believe adventure.

Don't project your fears onto children, kids will be oblivious to any paedo connotations.

'Let's run away groomer' would be creepy.

Actually lacontessa my 5 day old did love me and his daddy.

I know cos his t'shirt said it! So there Grin

T'shirt not particularly creepy, just not very funny. These things in my opinion are for the adults to chuckle over - not the kids!
